Sorry to report that Powers Boothe has passed on...reportedly of natural causes in his sleep. He was 68.

I enjoyed his work quite a bit over the years.

I'd like to wish him "Well, bye!" in the most respectful fashion. He and his work will be missed.

Wow, I'm sad to hear that. I enjoyed many of the roles Boothe played.

Always enjoyed his work. His character Cy Tolliver in Deadwood was portrayed superbly. Powers could deliver venom with his facials and delivery style. I liked him in the old Philip Marlowe, Private Eye, too.

Godspeed Mr. Boothe. You will be missed.

Jesus, I was just thinking about him yesterday. I couldn't remember if he was in Rapid Fire or if it was Michael Rooker, and I had to look it up.

Jed Eckert: How did you get shot down, Colonel?
Col. Andy Tanner: It was five to one. I got four.

A friend got my Wife a job doing extra work on a few movies and the show Nashville.
Powers Boothe was on the show a few years ago ... She said he was a good guy ..not like Gwyneth Paltrow who was a stone cold ass hole.
RIP Powers Boothe

Has that image, ^^^^, been photoshopped? Doesn't look right to my eyes.

"Shoot straight for once, ya Army pukes!"
Great last words spoken by Boothe's character in
Red Dawn.

No . Took it off the TV .. My Wife was only in the scene for a few seconds.
We watched that episode... paused than took the picture ..

They kind of stole that one.

I had heard Morant's name, but had never seen the movie.
So, didn't know the quote appeared elsewhere.
Do I care? I don't know if I do.

Australians annoyed me early in life (teachers mostly) so I
tend to avoid Aussie flicks, novels, etc.

I was looking for a clip of that on YouTube, to use as a tribute. Couldn't find it, and decided that "Well, bye" wasn't really appropriate.

Although tempting.

I'm amazed I didn't wear out my VHS copy of Extreme Predjudice back in the day, but I bet it still works. Cash Bailey isn't a rich source of potential tribute clips either.

I watch relatively few movies, and almost no TV, but really liked the Cash Bailey and Curly Bill performances.

Rest in peace.
