Stopped by the gun shop / range the other day to shoot the DoTW and was handed a new P30V3 to check out. One thing I noticed right away was that the left side of the ejection port was lowered like the current version of the P30L. All else looked angled the same. I did not take the time to strip it and check out the internals, but thought this change to be odd. I did not see any new info on hk-usa.com and the image of the P30 has not changed and looks like my current version. Any thoughts on why this was done, the reliability of the P30 is well documented on this site as well as my personal experience. I just hope they made wise improvements based on hard user input. Thoughts? This might just be the reason I need to buy it and try it.

I didn't know that the P30 and P30L had different ejection ports. News to me.

Went and Grabbed my P30 and P30L, looked at the ejection port on both and it looks to me that the P30 has a very slight cut that lowers the ejection port more than the P30L. Not sure when the P30 was made( F-Trooper might) but the P30L is brand new...:p

I was googling images to compare and saw several subtle differences even among the same models. Look at the p30L on the hk site vs the one one the wikipedia entry for P30.

Can you give us a couple of pictures for reference so we are all on the same page?

I'll have to look at mine also. I've never noticed but then again it never entered my mind to even compare. I'll check them out tonight after work.

I may not have been clear when I said left side of the ejection port.... With the gun pointed to the left as in the attached links, the P30 as shown in the top link now has the same type of lowering as shown on the P30L in the bottom link. Just above the 9x19. Sorry if this led to any confusion, sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words. And the example gun I handled was "just in".
