West VA seems to be in dire straits with regards to drugs.

John Wayne Orem, the Republican nominee for Berkeley County sheriff in the November general election, was charged with heroin possession after apparently overdosing twice in as many days, according to court records.

An EMS official told the trooper that Orem had been administered Narcan, a drug that reverses the effects of narcotics, on Tuesday morning and about 11 p.m., Monday night, during separate responses by medics.

At least they'd be hiring someone with experience with drug related matters.

A shame. I'd considered moving to WV for a time, but am glad that I did not.

This is an idea. If we could just get most of Congress and the senior bureaucracy into overdosing on something maybe they'd stop passing new laws and regulations and leave us alone.

http://www.journal-news.net/news/local-news/2016/10/charges-against-berkeley-county-sheriff-candidate-john-orem-formally-dropped

It also appears that he lost the election in November: http://countyclerk.berkeleywv.org/countyclerk/site-page/election-current-results

So why is this relevant now?

Heh, at the risk of starting a war between the states, that's the most West Virginia thing I think I've ever heard of...

As someone who lived in West Virginia for a couple of years I completely agree.

Yet another classic example of why Narcan is bad for the gene pool.

Probably relevant in that its GOP guy and some news screener at Yahoo or BookFace or whatever let it through the filter knowing 99% of folks wont catch the date and think the GOP are a bunch of drug abusing idiots instead of just plane idiots.
