Just got my May/June issue of American Handgunner.
Mas Ayoob gave notice in his column there that something very like the
old Second Chance Pin Shot is reappearing this summer in Central Lake,
MI.

I've been saying for years that if the match ever came back I would
go again. Despite being old, slow, and out of shape it's back and I'm
planning to go. (I was always slow
so that, at least, won't have changed.)

Info at www.pinshoot.com.

An article by Ayoob is how I found out about the shoot in the first place.
Took me several years to actually get there back in the day. Don't plan
to make that mistake this time.

Man, that looks fun, but damn if the price seems a lil steep!

The price seems reasonable, considering the prize table.

I was always glad I scraped up the money back in the day.

Got back from The Pin Shoot this evening.

Not everybody I expected to see showed up.
One famous shooter was in Russia for a rifle match
instead of being at the shoot.

Quite a few of the old shooters did appear. All of us were 18 years older.
Some of those gun geezers can still shoot, however. Some
still shoot fast.

I found myself slower but more accurate. Still prone
to having ammo problems and not reading the event
descriptions well enough. (Could have used my .45 Pin Gun
in the 13 pin 9mm event! Found out during the awards ceremony.)

Great time. And if you sign up early enough it's half price.
Lunch and dinner for the week included and lots of opportunity to BS with people
from all around the country who shoot, and own interesting
guns. Also to listen to Richard Davis do comedy.

The Pin Shoot is supposed to occur again June 15-22 2018.

I always enjoyed that back in the day. It would be fun to go back, but I doubt I will.

Well crap! Didn't see this post or I would have made sure to introduce myself (maybe I did?). I competed in most events and worked the 12x12 and .223x39 at The Pin Shoot. Had a great time, won a gun and two machetes off the prize tables. Already working on stuff to do for next year.

I shot the 12X12 so we may have talked to each other.

I was using a Mossberg 590 and got a 90 due to shooting slowly and
the pain of shooting slugs without a vest, or a PAST pad.

Gonna work the 12x12 again next year? I have a plan that may work
better.

Yes. Guy I go up there with and I will be working the rifle and slug events again next year.

I missed Ned Christiansen's winning run on the 12x12. Might have to poke him to post the video.

Found out after a mag tube of slugs, my Benelli M4 strings the shots about 2 feet low. I timed out also.
