Our j-frame holster is being revamped and most recent orders that have seen a delay are heading out this week. The holster will remain to be largely universal in that we've not found a j-frame that doesn't it, aside from barrel length. The improvements are largely visual but also in speed. These have been one of the longer to make holsters for us and developing a new mold has made some things 100% consistent now and will be faster to produce moving forward.

Was there an update to the kydex strut/PTD version?

Tom, please share an image of the new J frame holster when you have an opportunity so that we can see the changes.

When you say the "improvements are largely visual but also in speed" are you speaking of the speed of drawing from the holster or the speed of manufacture? (Sorry if I'm missing the obvious.)

Yup. Injection molded struts or the metal clip. I posted something but got held up in the new molds and haven't followed through. Once the new model is 100% I'd like to replace the older kydex strut holsters with one of the new ones.

Finally! We've got a few orders that have gone on longer than expected. Had some issues getting this one to where we like it but the wait I feel is worth it.

Best part... Clip, RCS clip, RCS strut and soft loop, and potentially the RCS Claw.

Gonna iron things out tonight and tomorrow and get the backlog out.

Congrats, Tom. I'm happy with my spring clip version but more choices is more better for more folks.

I was gonna put in an order for the J frame holster + a G34 AIWB and remembered seeing this thread. Is it possible to order now, and get one of the new versions?

Yup. If you were looking at attachments other than the clip for the j-frame we'd need an email though as that's not finalized.

I'll go with the clip for now and pick up additional hardware from you later if I decide to go with something different. Thanks!

Tom...does the LCR version look/ride similar to this? I have the OG LCR version and it rides quite a bit higher than these it appears.

Email me a pic. It might but that might also be some gun shape stuff going on as well. I've always tried to have the top of the attachment meet at the rear of the cylinder. It presents higher than a typical semi-auto but manages the weight/rollout and grip very well. If something needs tweaked we can do that too.

Nice. I think I might need one of these. Going to your website now to look some more.

Tom, can you extend this^^^ to fit a 3" j, and do it in yellow?

Probably in a few weeks. We'd need to cut some new molds. Let me see how it fits in with the Shadow 2, Pizza gun, and other stuff coming out.

Since I happened to have mine handy, here's an image of the "older" version for comparison...

IMO, the spring tension is probably double what it needs to be. With that hook under there it is VERY secure, either with or without a belt. I surfed looking for alternatives and notices some hooks have a shape that eliminates some material in this manner, so I ground mine to match. Achieved the desired result, so I thought I would pass it along:

With the metal clip is it possible for a bit of a reverse cant? Can the metal clip be moved around a bit and screws then tightened down to hold that cant?

Yes, there's a little float in the design with oversized holes but if you needed more we can do another hole.

The 3" model will be ready in a week or so, with the spherical cylinder end. It should be long enough to cover all of the kit guns and all that as well. Will post up when ready.

My earlier version J holster gets daily use in and around home and general walking around area. Just a fantastic piece of reliable kit.

The spherical end... was the reasoning behind this modification a comfort thing, or something else?

There was a user that commented on that corner and we had to make some other changes. My testers and myself hadn't really noticed it as an issue and I've only had one complaint but it was an easy change that brings the visuals in line with everything else anyway.
