I spent a couple of days with David Attenborough in 2002, and it's just awesome to hear him still going strong, narrating Planet Earth 2. He's an incredibly inspiring man.

We saw that the other night and I told my wife that's the difference between us and animals. If there was some animal attacking human babies as soon as they popped out the adults would band together and wipe them out.

When I was eighteen I had a lawn care business and one of the places we mowed was the Kroger's grocery stores. There was one near a waterway that they only wanted us to mow this narrow stretch behind the store once a month because the local hooligans would hang out and do their shenanigans back there. One day I've got the mower height as high as it will go and I'm slowly knocking down the grass this at least four foot (in my eyes looked like that Burmese a couple of posts up) came shooting out from UNDERNEATH the damn mower and wrapped around my right leg and started climbing!

I jumped higher than the handlebars and let out a banshee yell that made my Confederate ancestors proud. I grabbed him and tossed him ass over teakettle to my hard right and took off running in the opposite direction which was right for the creek. I crossed that creek like a Jesus lizard! I don't think I ever touched bottom.

It also brought the Vietnam vet watching the Goodwill container running with this big ass shiny revolver. He thought I was being killed by the hooligans. He asked what the hell was the matter and all I could get out was "sn- sn- sn- snake!" He started laughing and I finally started laughing. My brother still busts my balls about it today. My dad bought me a tshirt with a snake wrapped around a pair of hiking boots. Not a fan of snakes. I know their role and respect it but don't want to have them wrapping around my leg at speed. Damn thing was as scared as I was and booking it for high ground. No thanks on the snakes.
