"The only holster lubricant specifically designed to give you an ultra-fast draw from the holster while also protecting the firearm and holster from micro-abrasions and dust build-up. Quick Draw will extend the life of your holster."

Uh...I'm just a noob, but seriously?

A fool and his money are easily separated. Example- look at the holster they showcase on the front page.

Yeah. I defer to the more experienced on this forum. Stealthgear promotes it with their products, and I'm such a Stealthgear where, I got a can (although I think I paid less from that website.) I did put it on a JM holster and it seemed a bit slicker without impacting retention. Probably a gimmick.

lubricant

specifically

designed

Those words in the same sentence for lube almost always leads to a sketchy product.

Why would you need to quickly draw your gun holster lubricant? I don't think there is time for that when a threat is asses. If you haven't lubricated your holster before operating for the day I don't know what to tell you.

Yes, it is! That was a very enjoyable perusal.

It's probably just aerosolized Crisco.

While shooting some >10 sec FAST the other other day, I was just thinking that if only I lubed my holster up, I could whip things out faster.

**My apologies for not adding to the conversation, while at the same time interjecting a thinly veiled innuendo.**

It is composed of silicone and lanolin.

a) Major fail, it's not edible. I understand that's important in lubricants.
b) Raise your hand if you know what silicone does to electrical contacts, such as say on a WML or an RDS.

I have used spray silicone on the inside of some Safariland duty holsters that were especially tight. Made a big difference.

Or a completely different set of products...

Back to topic, its not my gear slowing my draw. Its me slowing my draw. Alas I can't get a replacement me to draw faster.

Back in the early 90s Safariland recommended the silicone spray

Makes the electrical impulses travel faster, just like it makes the gun travel faster out of the holster?

No you can

You pay me mad filthy lucre to follow you around and draw anytime I see fit

I do have to take a lot of breaks to count my filthy lucre tho so I can't draw right then ok

It's not just the silicone; I'm not cool with the lanolin either. What if I have to shoot a match in West Virginia? An uncomfortable situation could result from a holster that smells like sheep.

uncomfortable.

Lubrication should help you with this, i do not understand the problem

I keep thinking of my shirt riding up and down throughout the day transferring the spray to the grip area. In one second I send my glock flipping right at the bad guy in a nice underhand throw. Sort of ninja derp style.

I looked a the end of an unlubricated network cable once and an electron flew out and hit me right in the eye. Almost went blind from that. At least that's what I told my mother.

Anyhow I once used lubricant on a (highly under-rated, IMHO) Glock sport/combat pancake holster that was excessively tight/slow. Slicked it right up. I think I used EWL. Wears off after a while though.

If you put a bunch of different guns in there, the holster won't be tight anymore. At least that's what that whore told me.

My automotive spray does well on holsters. The idea is not without merit.

I've used silicon spray on older GM and Ford window tracks when the motors start dragging/slowing down. If this really does contain a better/higher concentration of silicon, it might well be solid for uses like that.

Silicone. The difference is important when it comes to lubricants.

Does anyone use Steel Target Paint? On the surface, seems equally gimmicky, but was highlighted on Shooting USA. Wait, where is my wallet?

As King of the Food Court I thought you just lubed your holster with the left over grease from Taco Bell wrappers.

Ya, I got some of this for my leather holster from MR.

I called MR and talked to them about how to use it on the inside of the leather during break in (sparingly, on rough places, applied with a fingertip). I will say that it did seem to lubricate the leather and allowed my pistol to seat fully, whereas without, it was very very tight.

I think for a holster made from a natural product like leather, it seems reasonable.

@The rest of thread: LOL. You guys crack me up.
