First Assurance: Defense Training will be offering a 2-Day Defensive Pistol Fundamentals course in the following locales:
Okeechobee, Florida on March 18-19.
Houston, Texas on March 25-26
Greene, Maine on June 3-4
Okeechobee, Florida on June 24-25
Okeechobee, Florida on Oct. 15-16
& more dates TBA
This class is designed to give a base level practical skill set to those who rely on a handgun for defense or plan to do so.
Over the course of these 2 days, (16-Hours) we will establish the foundational skills of defensive pistol shooting & focus on increasing your overall proficiency.
There are no prerequisites, but students should already be safe shooters.
Course focus includes:
• Perspective & Mindset
• Practical Safety
• Understanding your Sights
• Recoil Management; Grip & Principles of Stance
• Trigger Control
• Increasing your Speed & Accuracy
• Drawing from the Concealment
• Firing from Retention
• Emergency Reloads & Proactive Reloads
• Clearing various Malfunctions
• Understanding the effects of stress on the body
• Anatomy of the Threat
• Shooting Strings/Successive shots
• Tracking the Sight
• Diagnosing Inaccuracies
• Single Handed Shooting & Weak Hand Shooting
• Introducing Movement
• Positional Shooting
• Use of Cover
• Stress Induction
• Shooting Drills
Advance registration is required due to a limited class size.
