My newest acquisition was for sale on a local forum for a couple months. I kept seeing it bumped to the top with no interest. I was intrigued but knew little about HK pistols beyond my short stint with a VP9 that I didn't care for and sold. I did a bunch of research on it and saw a lot of mixed reviews about the DA/SA trigger. I finally couldn't resist any longer and picked it up. When I was inspecting it prior to the sale I dry fired it a couple times and to my surprise the trigger, to me, felt a lot like the Omega trigger in the CZ P07 I used to have (loved the trigger on the CZ, hated the HUGE controls). I handed over my cash and went home a happy man. I dry fired it quite a bit over the coarse of that weekend to get used to the DA/SA trigger and Euro mag release. Finally, I got to the range and had a blast with it. I fired it side by side with my Gen4 Glock 19 and was acctually more accurate with the P2000 right out of the gate. Accuracy will surely get better as I familiarize myself with the pistol. It also has less perceived recoil & muzzle flip to me. No issue with first shot placement in DA or followup shots in SA. I put 80 rounds of Perfecta 115gr FMJ, 100 rounds of Freedom Munitions 124gr FMJ & 50 rounds of Federal HST 147gr JHP through it without issue.

I did not like the way my HK45C's double action trigger felt at all when I bought it and ran in single action with a safety for a long time (was shooting a Glock primarily before I went to the HK45c).

I switched to a Sig 225A1 six months ago and have gotten back to running the DA/SA system again. I recently tried my HK45C's double action again and found that I liked it pretty well. Switched the decock/safety detent plate to decocker only and am now running it as my woods gun in DA/SA. It's not as smooth or consistent as my Sig, but I'm finding that it really doesn't matter if I run the trigger correctly.

I'm tempted to run a 9mm HK because I like the guns and the magazine release, but I don't like the slide release. I just need to either stick with HK or Sig at this point but what's the fun in that.

I've had two HK pistols--a P2000SK and a HK45c (the latter I still own).

One thing I noticed with both (and I would assume is common to all HK pistols) is that the triggers seem to need breaking in. The DA on the 45c was especially bad. Not... unusable, per se... just very gritty and unrefined. But as I shot the gun and dry fired, it has smoothed out a lot. I'd actually consider it a good trigger now. And, minus a little creep and a touch of grit, it's actually very conducive to keeping the sights on target through the trigger pull.

So yeah... good shooting. Just keep on doin' it. It should get even better with time.

my 10,000+ P30L v3 has the smoothest trigger of my collective.

Glad you like the P2000. I had to get rid of mine as reloads would pinch my hand and give me blood blisters, and I didn't like LEM. If it weren't for that I would have kept it.

Keep shooting it; it'll only get better. :D
