I was offered a plain vanilla standard length Nova as a kicker on a gun trade I'm trying to pull off. I have a older 870 that I switch back and forth from its original 31 inch barrel to a HD set up. What I'm curious about is if the Benelli is worth the time or money to convert it to a HD role, so I can leave the 870 in its hunting set up, is it reliable ? My Benelli knowledge base is pretty poor. Thanks for any help, I'll be digging through the archives.

Remington barrels are cheaper than Benelli barrels. I wouldn't recommend what you mention.

I have a 20ga Nova that I bought for bird hunting. The safety is in front of the trigger, and I'm constantly feeling for it behind like every other shotgun I own. That and the cost kill Novas for HD for me. If you want a dedicated HD shotgun, check the SOG link in the inexpensive shotgun thread for 870Ps.
