Dye for marking brass

Has anyone used this stuff for marking brass? Ran across it on a local shooting club site.

I have not tried it on brass but have used it in a machine shop environment for marking steel. It goes on thin and dries thin.

Outfits like J&L, MSC, and McMaster-Carr carry it.
