While patiently waiting for my name to move up Craig Spegel's list. I consoled myself by dry firing my smiths that currently wear Spegel grips. 13071. They are 3 inch S&W 66-3, 2.5 66-2, a 640 and a Browning hipower with king wood spegels.

My most frequently carried revolvers. Both have crimson trace grips. A 66-4 and a 642

13076A model 17 and a model 18 with Rogers/safariland grips. I wish safariland would make them again. The model 17 has a trigger job by Les Baer back when he lived in Allentown

Crimson Trace - LG-105 for J-Frame, LG-306 for K/L-frame
Fitz Ten-O-Grip Viper
Fitz Gunfighter Grip

The Ten-O-Grips are awesome. Not too thick in the cross section, a nice taper that allows solid recoil control. Where as a lot of stocks are fat in the middle to the point of making the gun index weird the Ten-O-Grips aren't. It's a real shame they haven't been made since the late-60s. It's a double shame they were cast out of essentially Bakelite and are pretty fragile. Not a lot of them have survived. I've also noticed that Fitz Grips had mediocre fit for most guns. A combination, likely, of using worn out molds and just trying to build some slop-tolerance in for different gun frames.

I have a couple of sets for various revolvers and I keep threatening to laser-scan them and have some CNCed out of Micarta or G10 for durability and better fit. It's on my list of "shit to design when I have time." - Maybe with the New Colt Cobra coming out, I will get off my duff and do it. Besides...if I have to buy a New Cobra to fit my stocks to, I can write it off as a business expense...Hmm.

Old Rogers/Safariland are my go to working grips on the full size guns. Love Spegels boot grips on anything I can find them for with concealment guns.

My main 642 has a Spegel Centennial grip. The other one has the Uncle Mikes Spegel copy. What's the current wait for Spegels?

I sent him a letter along with a check and had 2 pair in a couple of months. Ordered mid July of 2015. I think you get much better results with a letter vs. email. The check probably doesn't hurt either.

I have a rubber grip question, has anyone done any treatment to Pachmarys to reduce the tackiness? I had a set once that wasn't at all tacky/clingy feeling to clothes. Ive wondered if they had been Armor-all-ed or something?

I'm very happy with many of the factory Smith K and N target grips, but also have felt a LOT of them that felt like a 2x4. The ones from the 50s to early 70s were often very comfortable, with rounded edges, not the really chunky/blocky feel. After figuring out what the differences were, Ive filed and sanded many sets down to make them more comfortable. Putting one side old/nice on a gun, the other side chunky, I saw how they differed in outline, then hacked the squarish feeling down as well, and sometimes shortened them at the bottom. The smooth targets often were easy to work on so long as the medallions were down below flush.

Long time lurker, first time posting...

Love Hogue for shooting and gaming but Spegels rule for carry. I was a really good customer a long time ago and he did a few Colt Det Special grips.

The best grips I've ever experienced on a revolver are as set that the late Jacques Trausch modified for me for my Ruger Security Six; they were originally for a round-butt Speed Six, and Jacques cut out the butt and heel portions to accept my square-butt frame; when I later whined about the left grip's issues with accepting speedloaders, he subsequently further modified a left grip for me. They, and the Security Six work superbly.

A fairly close second would be Ruger's Compact grips applied to my full-size 4" GP100; thankfully, these grips are now again available from Ruger at a fairly reasonable price as an aftermarket accessory.

I just got a set of Pachmayrs for the 642. Loved them on the 66 I picked up last year so I grabbed another set and replaced the PGS grips that were on there previously. I like the feel of them, and they fit my hands better, but they're not really fit well to the gun.

RKBA holster, I believe. I asked them to make it out of the thinnest leather they had. I've been pretty happy with it

S&W:

My favorites are Spegels, Spegel designed Uncle Mikes and Miculek stocks.

Ruger:

GP100-Original Lett Grips compact size and the new Hogue 80010 finger-groove-less
SP101-Pachmayr Compacs. Lasergrips are on the list to try
SRH-Hogue 80010, Letts don't do it for me on the SRH frame for some reason
RH-Hogue Bantams are the only things that work remotely well for my hands

I'm really liking the Crimson Trace 405 that I recently added. If they didn't have the laser I would probably keep looking around till I found the "perfect" fit but they're plenty comfortable, and conceal and draw from my pocket fine.
I just took a shot from behind because when I was shopping around all the pictures I saw seemed to be from the side and I was under the impression that they were thicker than they are, they're pretty slim actually. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170210/c2fc2f234fe8b23c9772d4c547db1d50.jpg

A few favorites. Two 66s and two model 10s. K frames are best shot with .38 specials for me.

Since "No Second Place Winner" was the first book I ever read about using a gun for serious purposes, Jordan's comments on grips have significantly influenced my opinions about revolver grips. Even so, I find that my medium sized hands need to get closer to the backstrap for good trigger reach. I have found that Pachmayr Presentation grips provide many of the grip features taught by Jordan, while providing a bit of padding over the backstrap and still permitting decent trigger reach.

The former Michaels of Oregon revolver grips are some of my favorites, primarily because they fit my hand quite well.

I don't know that this is anything new, but splinter grips + tylers, Herretts, Secret service grips, and (as much as I hate to say it) monogrips.

I wear 2XL size gloves, so the Heretts Jordan Troopers work for me. But, those with smaller hands might want to go with something else. They are very large grips.

No pics at present, but handmade Craig Spegel's for square butt K frame model 17. Most expensive grips I've ever bought and worth every penny and more. They are perfection!
