I will be there with MGM Targets talking with sponsors of the MGM Junior Camps. My girl will be working at MGM, Christensen and Armscor booths.

Will be there representing my office rather than working a booth.

And this little piggy stayed home. First time I ll be not working it in about 8 years. Won't miss SHOT, but I will miss many of the people I only get to see at at SHOT.

Seems legit.

Actually that van looks less sketchy than most of the vehicles I drive. Looks pretty nice for it's age.

This makes me wanna rent a van out there and write this on the side. If done right I think I could milk some social media hype from it.

You'd sorta have to drive to SHOT then...picking up people who do stuff on the way...

I keep telling myself I need to go to SHOT, but then I look at my back log and can't justify the time away from the shop.

Would it really be a boost to the business or is it more of a bragging rights kind of thing? Do I need to make face to face contact with the people who attend?

I know I want to go but would it be a reasonable trade off of time from a business stand point?

Since you make your own products it's probably not worth it, we're there to see all the new optics, products we may carry and to place big orders.

Thanks for asking. The boss has asked me for the last 2 years to go but due to scheduling conflicts it never works out. I was wondering what I'm missing out on, other than some flu bug.

Thanks for responding to Rich because it kinda answers the question for me. I'd like to go to see cool stuff, raid Vegas, and most of all spend time with people I don't get to see much but, I'll see them at the RangeMaster Tactical Conference a month later. Plus, no SHOT show flu thing...

I've personally never went, but those who truly go for business don't enjoy it as many people see from the outside from what I'm told. I'd like to go just once for the hell of it but I say, "Next Year" every time it rolls around since I have no "need" to be there.

Depends on the approach. I won't win if I am trying to sell to everyone there but mingling has value, as does meeting lots of people I deal with face to face. Plus it's now been 2-3 years of people that can greatly expand my reach texting and messaging me asking if I was there. No brainer. Not sure it'll translate directly but I don't see it hurting.

There is definitely a good reason to go to SHOT if you are in some way associated with the gun industry, just the people connections are worth it alone if nothing else.

If you are making your living off the industry, then I don't see a reason to skip it.

Wife & I are going. I'm also paying my journeyman gunsmith's way this year - he's been a good minion! I kinda thought I'd skip it this year but my wife said we were going - Gawd I love that woman!
My main reason to go is mingling - I get to see a few other gunsmiths that I'd otherwise never see anymore.

I'll be there.

I'll have a messenger bag full of alcohol based hand sanitizer, alcohol for drinking, and N95 masks. I ain't getting the SARS this year.

Two years ago I drove to SHOT. Had to teach a class for Aimpoint while on the way out, and transport a ton of stuff. The drive home gave me a couple days of basically rest and not being around anyone. Took my time, stopped at gun shops, drank EmergenC with water the entire time. It was the first time I didn't get the SHOT show crud. I think the combo of getting on a plane full of diseased folks, spending a week totally run down and in contact with thousands of people who flew in on disease sharing planes, and then flying home with a plane full of worn down sick people is the magic combo for the Shot Crud. If I ever go again, I will likely drive.

Also.....on the way home I listened to every song AC/DC ever did......mad it to about Abilene before finishing and needed some country music for the last leg.

Never been, but plan to someday.....Like a kid plans to visit Disneyland;). Just to ogle and fondle. I'd probably end up spending g more time around the Hunting/outdoors stuff, frankly. Someday. Oh, and Darryl......Those 100 Aimpoint PROs on brand new Colts that you trained up our range guys on? Still not fielded.....And no plan to do so any time soon, apparently. God I can't wait to flee this place.

Dagga Boy
12-31-2016, 06:40 PM
Yea, why would getting those fielded be important......ARggghhhhh:mad: Again, you guys had a great staff to work with, several who really had their hearts and heads in the right place.....but my God does your management and executives suck dogs balls.

I will not be going this year and although I like to see people I really don't enjoy SHOT.

I don't like Vegas (well, the strip at least) and I'm very busy when there and I really hate casinos and overall the place just pegs my stress meter.

It's a good face-time event but I hate the experience, every time.

I went at 22 with my friends and thought it was the best place on earth. Went last year at 29 and could not FATHOM what 22 year old me was thinking.

Suspected SHOT Show thief arrested, charged (VIDEO)

American Defense Manufacturing on Friday announced its gratitude to Las Vegas Police for their help in arresting a man suspected of stealing a gun part from the company’s booth at SHOT Show this week.

The company sent out a Facebook post on Wednesday asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect caught on camera allegedly stealing a Trijicon, Inc. MRO and American Defense MFG mount off of its UIC9, sitting in the new product display area.
