A while back I asked here about German Shepherds and received great advice. https://pistol-forum.com/showthread.php?22725-I-m-looking-for-some-German-Shepherd-advice-and-info

Today is the day we were waiting for. Our new girl came home today. She is from Czech working lines. Great temperament in both her parents. 8 weeks old. Everyone in the house is thrilled with her.

We had what I thought was an agreement on a name prior to last night. Luna.

Then my wife and kids started up again with more thoughts. The three names in the running were Luna, Scout & Sammi. After bringing her home my daughter said she looked like a Sammi and it stuck. So Sammi it is.

Sammie is a pretty girl! Congrats on the new puppy. Her ears should be completely up pretty soon.

Gorgeous girl you have there!

A friend of mine has two Czech bloodline GSD's, and recommended a breeder / importer when the wife's ready. My kids and I are ready to pul the trigger; the missus, however, is going to take more time.

Pretty pup. I have been working with mine since he was about 3 weeks old. Got him from the breeder at 9 weeks. Selected him based on his attitude while I was giving him minor environmental stressors, and I gave him all his puppy shots, and recorded his responses to me shoving a needle into the skin over his shoulder blades. Now he is a 54 week old, 65 pound stocky bodied, high drive maligator. Teaching focus is taking priority now....

Working with her multiple times every day. Focus and engagement are the priority also. Currently she's only had her first vaccination. She is going next week for her second shot. Her breeder is very concerned about overdoing vaccinations. He wants us to consult with him for everything we planned on doing. He told us about blood tests we could have done to verify the need for boosters or any other vaccinations that may be unnecessary. He also has us feeding her a raw diet. The breeder also considers many of the flea and tick products to be nothing but dangerous toxins for the dog and advocates a more natural method.

She took to the crate extremely well. Of course our breeder had already introduced to spending some time in her crate. We've only had her for four days now. After night number one and found one wet spot on the towel that we put in her crate. The next three nights she's been a full eight hours in her crate and no soiling at all.

Don't know if you could have said that in any creepier a way.

Yikes, I guess you are right. The comma there after shots is unnecessary. It should have read that I gave the gave the litter their shots subcutaneously, and recorded their reactions to the injections. My guy didn't lose his affection or his drive to play tug on the leather rag after I gave him his shot; some of the others shied a way for a few minutes after the shot, and didn't want much to do with me until later.

Thanks for the creepy catch. 0418 is my lunch break, where sitting in an overheated office with food in my belly makes me a little sleepy.

Mine is just settling down at as she nears her 4th birthday, but I agree working line puppies can test your limits. Congrats on the new family member.
