Guns of the IDPA World Championship

1911s: ~100 (depending on how you count double-stack guns it's either less than or slightly more than 100)
M&Ps: 67
XDs: 6 (of which I was 1)
CZs: 3 (1 Shadow)
Sigs: 3 (2 DA/SA, 1 1911)
Beretta: 1 (a lonely 90Two)

There were more Tanfoglios at this match than Berettas and Sigs combined.

The balance of the Glocks were 17s or 34s with the 34 by far being the most popular single model of pistol at the match. The M&P mix was mostly 9mm with the 4.25 inch barrel, which outnumbered the Pro Series guns 39 to 18. There were also 8 M&P45s and 7 Glock 21s in Custom Defensive Pistol division, continuing to erode the 1911s dominance of that category.

It is interesting to note that despite all the internets hype you see about certain brands, that the people who are willing to shell out the time and money to attend a major match don't shoot those brands.

Most of the South American shooters were using 1911s, Tangfos or Glocks. I didn't see it, but there was a Gen4 that had been rechambered in 9x21.

Excuse me but we seem to be missing something.

S&W revolvers. I believe there were more of those than all the also-ran autoloaders put together. That's assuming that revolvers are "guns."

According to the results, there were 44 revolvers. 14 in ESR and 30 in SSR.

The breakdown of the S&Ws gets pretty interesting, actually. There were 11 K-frames in Stock Service Revolver and 13 L-frames in the same division. In ESR, it was nothing but N-frames, with 9 Model 625s, 4 Model 325s, and 1 sad and lonely 610.

That's about what I would expect to see across the board. Roughly even in SSR (including the GP100 as an L frame). ESR dominated by 625's.

I see from the list that the CZ SHADOW was used by some one
I guess this means that the Shadow has bee accepted as a valid gun
in ESP???
My understanding is that the Shadow was developed as a competition gun for Ipsc!!!
At the US champs in 2010 the SP! and the SP1 phantom were used
All of which is acedemic wth Glock ruling the roost
PS I am a CZ and Vektor ( Beretta) owner;):eek:
