To qualify as a "No", you pistol must be stock and as it was delivered to you.

Any modification to the spring or fire control group places you in the "Yes" column.

To start, my USP compact in 40 S&W (primary carry gun) has a match sear spring as the only modification I have personally made to the internals. It also started life as a DA/SA but was converted to heavy LEM by the previous owner. My previous and briefly carried USPc in 9mm was converted to light LEM by me. My USP in .40 is a range gun but has received a match trigger kit and V9 (safety-only) detent plate.

I have 4 P2000s, and I'm quite happy with their factory triggers. My latest gun, a 2016 "BG" date stamp, had an excellent out of the box.

I did try a nickel sear in my P2000sk, and noticed exactly zero difference. I didn't bother to take it out, but won't go to the effort in any new guns.

P30SK LEM V1 Carry Gun - No.
VP9 Game Gun - No mods other than a set of Trijicon HD sights.

GrayGuns RRCPPs on both my P30LSes. Also had Bill Springfield mess with my first gun, an HK45, before I sent it off to GrayGuns for a RRCPP, too (the HK45 has since been sold).

Mine are completely stock.

And then I woke up drenched in a cold sweat. Must've had fever.

Mine are as taken delivery from my FFL. Never gone beyond a field strip on the ones I carry. Took apart the spare gun to see how it was done; that was enough to dissuade me from doing any mods.

I'm completely satisfied with the OEM trigger on my VP40; if anything it verges on the edge of being too light and smooth...I did add a drop of Weapon Shield between the outer face of the triggerbar and the inner face of the receiver portion where it and the triggerbar rub, to smooth things just a bit further.

Best, Jon

I don't have a mechanical engineering degree so I try not to touch anything inside an HK if I can avoid it.

Went to light lem on my hk45c. My vp9 is coming soon and the only thing changing is the sights.

I have an IQ of 7 and manage without issue. HKs aren't that bad to work on once you figure them out.

Only change I have made to my one of my Hk's is the addition of a heavy trs to make the trigger heavier and the reset more forceful.

I voted "Yes" to mods - both my P2000 and P30 are "TLG" LEMs, and I dropped a match sear into my HK45c when I swapped it from DA/SA to LEM. My VP9 is stock, as is my P7M78...

:eek:This was right before the shitshow with GJM. That was also why I sent it off to GrayGuns afterwards.

4.1 kit and a trigger/reset package by Lone Wolf on a P30. Very surprised by how nice it turned out.

Yup. TLG LEM all the way!

Light FP block spring and chrome match sear spring on both my P2000s. Installed the V4.1 on my LEM. For me, the match sear springs really seem to smooth up the pull.

Primary carry for me is still one of a pair of identical P2000 V3 9mm's. Both guns got nickel-plated sear springs and 10 lb hammer springs. All I shoot in these is Federal 147 grain AE ball and my carry round, 147 HST; great triggers, no ignition failures. I continue to mess around with light LEM's in a USP9c and HK45c, and am planning to try a 4.1 light LEM in a P2000 9mm. My VP-9 came with an OK trigger; it's with Rick Holm getting slicked up, and my VP-40 is stock with a very good trigger.

Working on these pistols is not bad as long as you're organized and have some patience lining up all the parts on the sear axle. Here's the parts swap for the 4.1 install:

A better question would be "Is your HK trigger configuration stock or a stock variant?"

Yes
No

P30 V1, no, I'm not good enough with it yet to be able to address any deficiencies that might exist
P7M8, no, the trigger is the best thing about it.

I run the TLG LEM spring setup on my P2000's, SK, and P30. IMHO, that arrangement is conservative enough that I have trouble thinking of it as a "modified" trigger.

I also converted all my USPs to LEM, but I'm not sure I can count them as "serious use guns," as I haven't actually carried them in awhile. I would love an excuse to put my USP45 to use as a field pistol, but at present, my life is somewhat lacking in regards to recreational time and bears.

I'm on the fence. I'm having one of my HK P2000 LEM 9mm worked on by Rick @ Lazy Wolf Guns. The trigger will either be in the 4-4.5 lb. or 5-5.5 lb. range, heavier than my competition 1911. I'll decide after I get the gun back whether to carry the stock or modified gun (or get the second gun worked on). It's essentially a civil litigation issue in the unlikely event I ever have to use my carry gun; I don't have any safety concerns.

Nah. I'm interested in seeing how many people pick the gun up as delivered and decide to change it. Not so much interested in the change being equivalent to a stock offering or not.

Where the Glock trigger thread surprised me with the percentage of altered trigger groups, the modular nature of an HK leaving so many guns left alone is also surprising. Though perhaps because people can order a variant they want to begin with.

TLG LEM on all three of my P2000s. And I converted my USPc to LEM with a match TRS, although that one is pretty much limited to range use.

Changing the mainspring is one pin away in a USP. For all the Beretta D spring love, the USP series has a much more user friendly pin. Again just speaking to the USP, but the fiddlybits are pretty simple and modular, just take a modicum of patience to line up during reassembly. Converting from DA/SA to safety-less LEM results in a net reduction of parts in the gun.

I'd say the lion's share of "No" are due to the VP line having excellent triggers out of the box. On the opposite side, increasing light LEM to TLG LEM is likely a good chunk of them.
