'Course, Mr. Trump has the same opportunity.

Let's say that Trump wins and, with a supportive Senate, fills those four SCOTUS seats with Nationalist Conservatives. Throw in J. Alito and J. Thomas and the vote is 6 to 4. Why would those four remaining liberal justices stick around? They will have zero impact on law during the entire remainder of their careers.

Can you imagine all ten seats filled with NC's?

It's a terrifying thought. She stated openly that she believes the court got Heller wrong. I'm sure her appointees will agree.

Aside from the question of "What is a 'Nationalist Conservative'?"...

How many?

And?

Let's play this out worst case scenario style. Hillary or Trump pack the court with anti gunners. SCOTUS overturns Heller the next day.

Will Wyoming pass an AWB the next day? Will Texas ban guns in the home ? Is Montana going to round up gun owners for mass registration? Will Glock release a 9mm carbine? No to all the above.

One might say this enables anti gun areas to proceed with total weapons bans, but Heller hasn't stopped much of that.CA,NY,DC and other liberal anti gun areas arent waiting for a permission slip from SCOTUS and have enacted anti gun regulations anyways.

What counts now is The House and The Senate. Legislation directly comes from those places, not the White House and not the SCOTUS.
If we do our part and stay involved with LOCAL politics and legislative races , no bad laws get passed and we don't have to rely on the biases of the judiciary branch.

Prevention always beats cure.

I don't agree with that term; for me it used to be Liberal versus Conservative, now it's Globalist versus Nationalist.

Unfortunately the Republicans threw the election by nominating the only person horrible enough to lose to Clinton.

They could have nominated a German Shepard, it's the voters who determine who wins.

Whats the real likelihood of the Supreme Beings overturning such a recent decision as Heller? I thought the court doesnt tend to do that kind of thing to itself.

Chances are low of a direct reversal. However, there are many questions SCOTUS has not yet answered re the 2A. Is an AR-15 protected? Public carriage? Standard capacity magazines? Knives? Tazers? Batons?

1: "National Conservative" as opposed to all the "National Socialist" parties. Perhaps you've heard of the Nazis?

2: Fat fingers.

They should've played off their past successes by pushing a candidate like McCain again. Or maybe Jeb? We've been able to squeeze 12 years out of that last name so far.

My point was, if you're going to introduce a new term perhaps you should explain it.

Ditto. Nationalist has negative connotations.

I wonder how Garland looks to the Republican Senators now?

Over my lifetime it seems that Supreme Court confirmations have become increasingly partisan, with both parties contributing to the mess. I thoght confirmation hearings were to answer the question "Is the nominee qualified to serve?", not "Does the nominee agree with us on everything?" Instead we get more limus tests because the other guys did it last time.

Aarrgghh.
