With all the J frame love recently I have begun thinking about J Frame grips.
I am curious which features you find desirable on Pocket carry grips.
I have only run stock rubber grips or CT 405's on the two J frames I have carried. j frame grips seem really small in my hands and I am thinking some small increase in dimensions that wouldn't compromise pocket carry may make a world of difference. And with the recent purchase of a MP 340 Big Dot I am thinking to go to a wood grip.
Just some I have thought of...
Smooth or checkered?
two finger or three finger?
Cut for speed loader important?
Were the Fitz grips good for pocket carry?
What about the Herrett Shooting Ace grip?
Has anybody ever had a set of closed back grips for pocket carry?
Do you have a specific Brand/style you prefer?

I prefer boot grip style for pocket carry of the J.

Anything that extends past the bottom of the grip makes them too long for pocket carry for me.

Prefer smooth or hard grips for pocket too.

I have carried J's for decades in the pocket. The two pictured examples are the type that works best for me.

What is the one on the right? It looks like the Uncle Mikes boot grips I have. Wish I could find more of them. The wood version looks good though.

I use the PGS Hideout grips on my 642. They are the finger groove ones. No issues with pocket carry.

This vendor must have bought the remaining inventory following the squabble that ultimately terminated the arrangement for Uncle Mike's/Butler Creek to produce the Spegel design.

I am partial to these Zebra VZ boots because they slide out easier than the rubber Spegels and I hit pretty well with them.

They also make my nasty ol' 442 feel purty and relevant in my life. Dwelling in my pocket is rough.

Nice find thanks. Do these cover the backstrap?

First choice are Spegel boot grips, with the Uncle Mikes rubber copies as a poor man's substitute. Next up would be factory wood with a Tyler T-grip adapter. Hogue bantam in rubber are ok, but a little 'grippy' for the pocket. Tried a pair of Hogues in rosewood, but they were too thick for my taste.

Thank you! I've heard these were pretty good grips, but I wasn't able to source them last time I looked.

Yes, thanks 41!

I have a set and like them quite a lot for overall feel and not being too bulky. Would like another set or two just in case.
