What are you carrying for a fixed blade pocket knife? What sheath are you using.
What dimensions (handle/blade) work best for you? Do you have pics of your setup or links to the product you can share.

A semi-custom fixed blade P'kal I picked up off the TPI forum. I've never seen another one like it.

Watson CT with pocket sheath:

Alongside a Clinch Pick for comparison:

The CTs appear once in a while at places like Monkey Edge (http://www.monkeyedge.com/SearchResults.asp?Search=watson) and Blue Line Gear (http://www.bluelinegear.com/shop-brands/Joe-Watson-Knives).

Very cool. Looks a lot like a Spyderco Reverse but customized. I like that setup a lot.

The blade size/shape is identical but it has a full tang and the blade is slightly thicker.
Definitely not a customized/repurposed Spyderco P'kal.
The hole in the blade is for the retention divot on the sheath, it "clicks" into the sheath instead of a friction fit.

From what I remember it was from a limited run of knives made for Viking Tactics Germany.

Viking Tactical from Germany. It was a copy of the p'kal. I sold that knife to Jody a year or two ago. :)

I think I saw you reference that set up on another thread. Is that what you refer to as the shark fin holster?
Also the OAL would be helpful. Are you still wearing Deluth shorts?

Yes, that's the "sharkfin" or hook that hangs on the pocket to release the sheath as you draw the knife.
The OAL is 7.25"
In the picture I'm wearing the latest in fall fashions from Duluth Trading Co., Firehose Flex work pants.

The MDTS/RCS Moduloader Pocket Shield works well for this. A Spyderco Reverse with some reduced scales has been pretty solid, as is a production Clinch Pick. I've used a cord wrapped Ban Tang CP and it's thinner yet but have stopped as I don't wanna lose that particular knife.

I'd look to any of the appropriately priced Chinese knives and a shield. The biggest issue I have with the dedicated pocket sheaths is location. The P'kal Jody posted has a fixed location by way of clip, the others just sorta hang out.

I've been using a TDI knife for pocket carry for awhile now, works really well for that role.

I keep getting the urge to find a blade that is more utility oriented, but in this same TDI/Clinch Pick size range, so that it can do double duty as a working blade. Anyone have a suggestion on such a knife, maybe in stainless?

Craig has said that China-made Disciples should be available soon, maybe this year IIRC.

Because this is PF and it was probably on page 18 of a 35 page thread about something totally unrelated 😉
I don't remember if it was posted here or on TPI, or if it still holds true, but I'm fairly certain he did say it.

That's a Clinch Pick.

The Disciple is the Clinch Pick's big brother.

Disciple shown here left of the Clinch Pick.

My mistake. I know the difference between a CP and a Disciple (I have a Bang Tang one) but some part of my brain apparently decided that reading comprehension was not necessary this morning and turned that app off.

I rarely carry a fixed blade in a pocket, but I occasionally use a Chinese made Clinch Pick with the sheath attached to a Chris Fry/Raven Pocket Shield. Mickey Yurco, a police officer and knife maker in Ohio, makes a "palm knife" with an egg shaped handle much like a Cold Steel Desperado, but shorter, more practical blade. He is creative with sheath design, and my wife and I both have pocket sheaths for these knives. Not sure if this counts as pocket carry, but when wearing a suit or sport jacket, I sometimes carry a Bud Nealy Pesh Kabz in a sheath that hangs upside down from an inside suit coat pocket.

Did you have the pocket sheaths custom made or are they available for sale somewhere? I'm intrigued. Got one of those knives around here somewhere, but didn't much care for the original sheath.

Mickey made the sheaths himself at my request. I did have to temporarily return the knives to him so he could mold the sheaths around them.

Talk to him about your needs. He can be creative with Kydex.

Tom at DSG also makes a really good sheath, and knows his way around the pocketshield.

I know a lot of people don't care much for the "MTech" brand but I have been carrying their "MX-8035-stainless" for quite a while and they come with a decent kydex sheath that is easily adapted to your personal preference of carry. I appreciate the more expensive knives but this model has endured quite a bit of abuse and stood up well. It is made with 440c stainless and holds a pretty good edge and feels good in the hand. The price is right also.

3.5" blade on a 7" OAL. G10 scales and liners and mosaic pins. Not cheap, but an elegant solution to carrying a knife.

I like a good fixed blade as much as the next guy but I won't pay the prices some are asking when you can get a perfectly functional work/carry blade like this one at such a reasonable price. If I damage or lose it its not a big deal and it feels good in the hand with a totally adequate sheath:

https://www.amazon.com/USA-MX-8035-Tactical-Micarta-Overall/dp/B0087BGIEQ

I have many high priced blades that I love, but for work and everyday carry, this does fine.

I should have never let this one go. someone really twisted my arm to get this from me. the ring made it unbelievably quick to deploy and provided sure grip. kydex sheath with pocket clip rode in the pocket well. I haven't found a pocket fixed blade better than this yet. It wasn't truly concealed, as some of you need, though
