The speed holstering thing always gave me the heebie-jeebies as an RO, and I don't see it talked about enough. There were always those guys who wanted to come off like they had "Mastery of the Weapon Platform" when told to load and make ready, and they were fast and casual jamming Glocks, XDs, and other unforgiving guns into their holsters without looking. Casual is not confident. The truly confident shooters were slow and deliberate and looked at what they were doing. It's not a surprise that a majority of accidents take place during reholstering, but I am surprised that I never saw any of the "mastery" guys shoot himself.
