"According to WJZ’s Mike Hellgren, “The judge said that the evidence simply was not there, that there was no way that Officer Goodson would have known that Freddie Gray was injured until that final stop at the Western district, and that’s when a medic was called. He chided the state for using the term ‘rough ride,’ he said that it’s a highly-charged term, they failed to define it.”"

That is great news, but not for our brothers in Blue in/around Baltimore, I bet. Hang on for the wild ride!

The officers who selected a bench trial were very wise.

Imagine that.

I read a more detailed article about the Judge's opinion which was brutal the prosecutors and the lack of evidence in the case. I'll try to find it. Goodson was supposedly the Officer who was going to be the easiest to convict and their case just fell apart.

I found the link to the PDF of the Judge's ruling. Enjoy!

There were no riots reported.

Guess no one gives a shit after they realize their DA in shining armor is going to get the boot.

And the whole thing is made better by the fact that the judge is black...

I've noticed that some people still refuse to accept the possibility that maybe the police aren't actually guilty.

I want to go to the court house on my day off (if I get one this month...) and make a sign with the photos of the 5 LEO's they tried to prosecute and a quote - "FREE AT LAST"

I'm glad that they don't have to go through a trial and deal with the stress and mental torment, but in the long run, as weak as the cases were, they would be better off going to trial. I think this probably has to do more with Mosby trying to shield herself from civil liability than acting in the interest of justice. There's no statute of limitations on murder and double jeopardy doesn't apply to dropped charges. If the officers want to sue Mosby, at some point they are going to have to sit in front of a camera in a deposition, waive their fifth amendment protection and start talking.

What needs to happen get past the problem of prosecutorial immunity? What do they have to prove to defeat it?

And Mosby gives a disgusting press conference accusing the police of interfering with her investigation. She needs to be the the subject of an immediate recall election. At a minimum she should be subject to disbarment proceedings.

The locals don't care, she will blame the people they hate and they will blindly support her.

This is the issues with every large left urban center.

More of this needs to happen. I'm not usually one to promote suing, but these "academic" types don't seem to understand common sense.

Am I the only one bugged by the godawful writing in that article?

If these people can't be bothered the spell check what make you think they fact check?

Glad Mosby is going to catch some legal flak over this. I hope the officers win and she is stripped of her position.
