After reading Todd's review of the P30 I just had to have one, however I am looking at making it a V4 but need the part numbers for the parts i need specifically to purchase. I currently have a V2.

Thanks,

Yep what he said. I think you'll like the Todd Green Special/V4 set up. It's what I use in my P2000 and really like it.

Was this in mentioned during his torture test? If someone could provide a link or what week it was mentioned, I'd appreciate it. Save me some time searching... Sorry being a little lazy this morning. :o

I thought only the Firing Pin Block Spring needed to be changed to go from a V2 to a V4 - since I see 2 part numbers listed, that brings to mind the question - what else needs to be changed?

On a second note - Brownells doesn't list them, so do they have to be ordered directly from HK?

You can also order parts @ http://www.hkparts.net

IME: They are more expensive than HK Direct, but shipping is cheaper. If you're getting one or two parts, it may be a wash, but if you're ordering a bunch - I would go to HK directly.

What size punch is needed for the roll pin? and does the pin(s) need to be replaced once removed?

If I remember correctly, 3/8" nipple punch. The roll pins do not have to be replaced according to anything I've read.

TC - Can you double check .... I thought it was a 3/32" roll pin punch.

I'm sure you're right...as 3/8" does sound way too big.

Does anyone know if the parts on HKparts.net are the standard or extra strength springs? The part numbers seem to be different.

If you put in the HK part number in to the search field, it should take you to the correct part, with their number. Sometimes, they list both part numbers on the product page.

Pardon the question, but why the V4 in stead of the V1? Wouldn't the 4.5 lb weight be better in a DAO?

I have a V1 and would also like to know the variance of V1 vs V4.

The reasoning (as told to me by ToddG) is that the V4 has a more forceful trigger reset. So, you have a bit more trigger pull weight, but faster reset for follow up shots.

Skyline,

I found when I converted my P30 to V1 the trigger return felt sluggish, now I'm rocking a V4 the triggger has a very positive reset and has a more positive feel. IMHO
I measured the pull at 6lbs. 5oz

I am interested to hear other peoples opinions of the V1 trigger.

I've been playing with various spring combinations ... with the V1 trigger spring, the trigger doesn't feel as smooth on the uptake.

I really like the V1 (disclaimer...only version I have tried). I am also working on trigger manipulation. I find the pull to be very good and not spongy, I was able to find the break very fast and find my self able to time the trigger pull on reset. Now I'm am way below the level of quite a few on this board and you may take my opinion with a grain of salt.

If all I have to do is change out a spring to try a V4, then I just may have too just to see for myself what the hype is.

Which spring will I need to pick up to this mod?

The reasoning (as told to me by ToddG) is that the V4 has a more forceful trigger reset. So, you have a bit more trigger pull weight, but faster reset for follow up shots.

I'd also argue it makes the gun a little bit safer for carry, as well. LEM is technically DAO, but it's a bit of a wolf in sheep's clothing since the mainspring is preset meaning the trigger return spring is providing most of the resistance until you get to what's essentially a single action trigger break.

I have an extra 209296 if you want to PM me I will send it to you. Sorry I can't help with the 214300. I think the FBS will reduce the pull about 1lb

Has anybody found the 209296 spring in stock recently? I'm trying to get my gun lined out before I attend AFHF in June. Thanks.
