All the pants/shorts look hipster cut from the video's...not a single crotch gusset mentioned, that means I won't be able to sit down in them comfortably.
The Utility Shorts look promising though.
The "instructor polo" is essentially a tighter cut style of the vertx polo, except about $10 more from what I can tell (might be intro pricing)
The Mansfield short sleeve is promising, the "leather brown" is closer to "battle brown" or "patriot brown" that we've been seeing. I like the "new charcoal" - darker version of arc'teryx wolf.
Rainey shirt looks like a very expensive knock-off of most plaid shirts you can buy at sears or macy's on sale for $7.99.
Mansfield long sleeve in "bluestone" looks like a makeshift competitor to 5.11's chambray shirt (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00I5RI246/).
I like that Magpul is going into a direction of functional clothing, that's cool. My prediction is that it'll be the 5.11 / honda civic of the tactical world in short order, good for them in terms of money, might be good for us because it forces 5.11 and other large companies to adapt and make better products.

I own a hoodie and a couple of their T shirts that I grabbed during a clearance sale. They are pretty well made and cut decently, actually. The cotton is thick and the ones I bought had pretty unobtrusive logos. Wouldn't pay full price but I am happy with what I got when they were on sale.

They're pretty much the anti-hipster... They're slightly less baggy than wearing an old surplus tent for pants.

I was waiting for another clothing line to come out so I can identify "switched on" people more quickly or without seeing the back window of their truck or the patches they put on their dog... Sorry, their GSD's harness.

Yeah... Those aren't the same at all. I get that anything we don't like has to be a hipster thing but the magpul pants are pretty close to the Kühl and others and purposely not restrictive like the actual hipster pants are. The other pics on the Magpul site have me thinking they're more like JNCO's than anything else. We all know that tactical fucks can't have fabric touching their legs despite 10 years ago wearing nuthuggers and yelling at kids with boot cut jeans.

As I stated, seeing as how "crotch gusset" isn't even mentioned its a clear indication for me that I'm going to stay away.
I currently don't own a pair of pants that doesn't have them and won't be buying any until I see some good/positive/detailed reviews.
This is also a good time to point out that the gun industry needs to focus on the reason why people carry firearms/ccw and do tactical shit and stop trying to make a fashion statement. I don't give a fuck what brand/logo/style of clothing you wear, if it works specifically to do something (like the 5.11 apex/kuhl/etc) I mentioned then awesome, otherwise buy a real fashion label and quit being pretentious.

Prana is the new secret tactical clothing line? I thought Kühl was? I must have missed that.
I've been wearing Carhart loose fit jeans and no name brand t shirts/polo style shirts for years now because I'm cheap. My stuff conceals just fine while wearing it and I'm comfortable. Different strokes for different folks I guess...

Kühl is too mainstream, anyone can buy it in almost any major shopping area.
Funny thing about Carhartt stuff... My shitting around pants are worn more and holding up better than my "hard use" brand stuff and they look rather normal. No carbine mag pouches at the ankles or pockets for snacks though.

Sometimes less is more.
From what I've seen in the pictures, I'm missing the hipster comparison also.
Serious question:
How does one wear skinny leg pants when trying to ankle carry? I don't think it can be done, but I've been proven wrong more than once on this forum.

Royal Robbin is the secret tactical clothing line...
Dude, really......fight club.
Having been involved in creating the non tactical tactical clothing thing early on (as in after 5.11/Royal Robin, but before the rest), I almost never wear any of these silly things anymore. Carhart never held up for me or I would still be using them. Filson didn't work out as well as I would have liked, especially for the price. Duluth has been really good. I do wear my issued Vertx from time to time, but mostly for nostalgia or teaching at work. Never in public unless I want to look like a tard from the internet.
So how much of this is clothing and how much of this is MAGPUL diversifying in case the Hildebeast is elected? It's hard to be an AR mag and accessories company if ARs are banned. I think the mag ban which happened in their home state a couple years ago prompting their move to TX and WY was a wake up call. Hence the emphasis on clothing, hunting rifle stocks etc.

The Utility Pant is the cargo pant for people who hate cargo pants.
Made of cotton/polyester ripstop, the fabric has been pre-washed to reduce stiffness. This pant boasts the same engineered crotch gusset as all Magpul pants and also has seams on the back waist that fit around you in place of a waistband, reducing bulk. Along with reinforced hand pockets, this pant has two inverted cargo style pockets that don’t bulge out when you fill them. Top opening rear welt pockets allow for ease of access. 5 extra large belt loops on the waistband allow for use with any belt. Logo patch on center back loop. Reinforced zipper fly closure with metal zip.
FEATURES
Enzyme washed 60% Cotton / 40% Poly non stretch Ripstop
260 g/m2 midweight fabric
Straight fit from hip to ankle
18” leg opening (based on 34x32)
6 pocket total, including two generous bellows style cargo pockets
Crotch gusset and seamed back for optimum fit and movement
Triple needle stitched reinforced fly with metal zipper
Logo patch on large center back belt loop

I don't know. I also don't know anything about the quality of the original RR trousers. I do know all of the 5.11 pants that were issued to me back in 06-07 held up fine. The few that I bought back in 08-09 held up well too. I cannot speak for their current quality based on the fact that the one pair of 5.11 pants I currently have get worn maybe once every 6 months and they're holding up great. It's not like I'm running them through their paces...

I'm a fan of Vertx pants and shorts because the mag pocket inside the cargo pocket holds an iPhone vertically and I don't have to worry about losing my phone if I'm running around with my kids. As for the Magpul pants, I'll take another look when they open the men's department with a proper 36" inseam instead of the current midget line. ;)

As I said, I like them a lot.
Roomy without being bags with sleeves (closer to the body than a guayabera or hawaiian shirt but not tight at all as far as I'm concerned), light on the shoulders, smoother to the touch (compared to your typical pique polo), the raglan sleeve makes it real easy to move your arms in them. I wear an XL polo (being 6'3") and they come down to just below the Emerson clipped to my jeans' pocket. I actually keep wearing them (long sleeved ones in early spring and late autumn) even when I am where I can't carry.
I can't comment on the Cold Black or other things they do to them because I have no idea what that stuff really means or does but they're light to wear and nice when it gets hot (when it gets DC hot nothing is nice to wear so that doesn't count).

You just can't make this stuff up. I received a box from Magpul today with my order of Utility pants and shorts. Tried the shorts on, and they fit good, and threw them in the wash pile. Pulled the pants out of the bag, and they were marked 28x32, instead of my 34x34 that I ordered. I thought SLG must know the Magpul people, and had them send me pants that would only fit him. Fortunately, my wife was there, tried them on and they fit her perfectly. Close call -- almost had to send them to SLG.

Problem is there is no standard as to where gun carriers carry their guns. Where I want belt loops for AIWB is different than where I wanted them when I carried OWB strongside with a Raven Phantom.

anyone try their flex pant or polos? Every polos I seem to be either overly too loose (sloppy/unprofessional looking) or too tight in the arms. Pants have been a issue for me also since I got serious about squats and dead lifts. They will fit fine in the waist and under the knee but the thigh and ass region have been a little "tight" lately.

This might work for you and has the added benefit of not only being roomy in the right places but ensuring that nobody, and I mean nobody, will mess with you for fear of an EEOC investigation. :p
its perfect! I already wear my hair like that

anyone try their flex pant or polos? Every polos I seem to be either overly too loose (sloppy/unprofessional looking) or too tight in the arms. Pants have been a issue for me also since I got serious about squats and dead lifts. They will fit fine in the waist and under the knee but the thigh and ass region have been a little "tight" lately.
I have a pair of the flex pants. They basically fit like jeans but with definitely more flex and the fabric is very thin/light, so they're for the summer.
I like them so far but I'm not working them hard.

The Kuhl Slax look similar. I have several pair and wear them for work a lot. Their thin, stretchy, and look nice for office wear or casual. http://www.kuhl.com/kuhl/mens/pants/slax/

I bought my first Kuhl seersucker shirt before Kuhl was cool. In fact it had two labels...Kuhl and Alf. I've always meant to look for more of their gear.
My wife wears quite a few of their shorts and pants.

I like Kuhl (shirts) for work because it hides blood spatter, and it washed out easily. Also, no ironing required.

Depending on the level of formality required, I recommend Levi's 541 jeans for the, shall we say, enthusiastic deadlifter. Stretchy, too.

I have a pair of the Duluth firehouse foreman flex pants. They're my favorite pants now. Extremely comfortable. They stretch everywhere with out looking like stretchy pants if you know what I mean. Limited colors though, and they seem to run a little long to me.

I really dislike getting clothing, especially higher end clothing that I have to buy site unseen.

Anyone buy the utility pants that can comment on the sizing/fit?

Anyone buy the utility pants that can comment on the sizing/fit?
Well, I bought them.
I got the pants (https://www.magpul.com/products/apparel/bottoms/magpul-utility-pant) and the shorts (https://www.magpul.com/products/apparel/bottoms/magpul-utility-short), 36 in waist on both, 32 length on pants. First item, 36 in waist on each fits differently on me, with the shorts being a hair tight and the pants being a bit loose. I'm hoping the latter will tighten up after washing, and am concerned that the former will do the same.
I followed the sizing guide to select my size. My ideal size is a J Crew 35/32, and I measured my waist to be 37" actual. Based on the size guide that should have put me squarely in the 36" waist size.

The pants are also a little too long, but that may have to do with sag due to the waist being a bit loose.
The overall fit is kinda Vertx-y with the tight thighs. The seat/crotch seems a bit short, even with them being a bit too big, as the rear waist sags lower and flares out further than I'd like while seated.
The rear pockets seem great, but I keep my wallet back there and the extra-deep pocket puts my wallet too low when seated. They are cargo pants, so I suppose the wallet will go in a cargo pocket.
Appearance-wise I like them. The rip-stops are visible, which may be off-putting to some looking for a non-miltaristic pant, but even my Wrangler MC Hammer pants have the rip stops visible.
I have a 6 hour drive to make today and I'm wearing the pants, pre-washing, so I'm sure I'll have more to say later.

shorts page only has one and it's on clearance

I like their Reflex pants. They wear just like jeans except much lighter for the summer.
The sizing on the Reflex pants has been very inconsistent for me. The first pair I bought fit great. Ordered 3 more pairs and they all fit differently. Mostly way too big around the waist.

LA Police Gear is having a closeout sale on Magpul clothing (https://lapolicegear.com/brands/magpul/magpul-closeouts.html). I've picked up several of their shirts for dirt cheap. Again, sizes run small.

I ordered the reflex shorts on sale. Got them and tried them on today. Site said order a size down if you’re not carrying IWB so I went with a 34. STILL way too large in the waist.
Thing is, they are kinda tight in the thighs. So I don’t think getting a 32 is the answer either. They are just cut weird.

That's putting it mildly. I picked up a few of their shirts and pair of utility pants from a similar LAPG closeout sale back in September. The shirts run small but are acceptable (it's actually kind of nice, XL normally fits me like a tent); the pants are unusable. I'm not the biggest dude in the gym but I do squat on a regular basis - I could just barely wedge an iPhone 5 in the front pocket and after doing so, walking up a flight of stairs was VERY restricted. They were spot on re: the waist and inseam, but the thigh was WTF-small.
Thanks for the heads up re: the closeout Drang. Debating whether or not I need more of the shirts.

I must be the only guy buying this stuff, it's down to $10.00 a shirt.
