Back when I shot more 30 carbine and 7.62x39. I settled on AA1680 for those cartridges and 223. Now I don't shoot 30 carbine and rarely 7.62x39 and the highest book load for 223 1680 is too weak to run my BCM midlength gas system upper reliably.
I'm stocking up on powders while they are available and am looking at H322 and H335 for primarily 223 and possibly 308 since both are listed for both powders. I see that H322 is extruded and H335 is spherical, so it may meter better in my Dillon. H335 seems a little faster. Primary use is 55gr FMJ practice ammo.
What are everyone's experiences with these powders or name another versatile 223 powder that is cheap. Were these Hogdon powders hard to get in panic times like HP-38 was?
