Take a 12yo girl, a Ruger 22/45 with red dot sight, and a S&W M17-2 to the range. You'll burn through 400-odd rounds in an hour.

You can also have a daughter and her husband come to town with a couple of .22s.
And bring some pistols and rifles of your own.

I'm in full agreement on methodologies, but i'm unfamiliar with this concept of "excess" ammo.

American 180. Get rid of 400 rounds in about 24 seconds.

Prior to Thing 1 getting into shooting, I had two 22lr revolvers and 17k rounds of the stuff. I was set for a decade. Now, I'm not sure my stash will make it to high school.

I couldn't afford to feed it at this rate. Thing 1 already runs the 22/45 like she was born with it. I want to put a real 1911 in her hands and see what she does with it.

Hope it was suppressed.

I only got to shoot one American 180.
It didn't go through ammo very fast as it was jamming.
The guy who owned it had put on the short barrel and it didn't
work as well as the other one.
Still fun to add to the "Yes, I Shot One" list.

As much fun as I have had with an American 180 and an Oldsmobile.....which was a unique sound all to itself. This has huge potential.

I also was at Stembridge Gun Rentals in the old days and the little mad scientists had just built a .22 electric Mini Gun that was a miniature of the full size.

I want to build a hand crank mini-Gatling gun. Continue your discussion.

But only with a magazine of less than 15 rounds?

.22LR has now been done. You've got to go at least for .22 mag., but 5.56 would really make a statement (and keep the neighbors off your lawn).
