ToddG passed away today. (https://pistol-forum.com/announcement.php?a=11) We can remember him here. I'm not quite ready to talk about it publicly yet.

Todd and I with our matching rebuilt elbows.

RIP and my condolences to his friends & family.

I remember going out to eat with him and a few members here after completing his class talking about guns, training, life, etc. He genuinely cared about his students and had a great sense of humor.

My condolences to so many on this board who were close to him. It's got to hurt bad.

Even via the distance of the virtual relationship I grew attached to him. I really appreciated his application of his logic to his arguments. I will miss his contributions greatly.

Todd,

I never got to meet you. I discovered P-T/P-F after you stopped teaching and shortly before you stopped posting.

But you've changed my life in some pretty massive ways...

I fear I owe you a debt I can never repay...but I'll do my best to find my own ways to do so in your absence.

...now rock on and go school some fools in the afterlife. I'll seek you out when I get there. I trust I'll find you smiling, shaking your head, watching some macho man fail to get a FAST coin after their 1,000,000,000th attempt.

This is one guy I wanted to take a class from and never got the chance to. Even with the occasional comment in my training journal, I enjoyed his mentorship and guidance. I've read about him and his tests numerous times, just finishing a 24 page thread last night on his press out technique. I never even knew him like some of you do and I sense a void has been created. Hear and his family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Todd's analytical and love to debate personality, combined with his methods (training journal, DOW, FAST), his interest in performance driven product development (like AIWB holsters), and changing internet practices and technology (forums like PF), caused him to have an enormous impact on performance oriented defensive shooting.

Todd and I shared some fun scheming together!

I hosted him three times, and was a student in two of those classes. He inspired me to become an instructor and gave me a lot of very valuable advice along the way. He was gracious enough to ask me to be staff on this forum when it first started.

Goodbye Todd. I'm going to miss you. Every time I stand beside a student's gun with my nose a half inch away from it, I'm going to think of you.

RIP, Todd, and condolences to his family and those here who knew him as a friend.
I had the pleasure of training with him back in 2011, and am thankful for the solid foundation he provided.
He kept us all up until midnight in his room, just BS'ing about guns, shooting, and telling stories about his time in the industry. I remember thinking that he was truly a teacher, not just an instructor.

I will greatly miss one of my favorite debate partners. Todd and I shared a gene that we learn through vigorous debate. I liked going back and forth with him because he was such a worthy adversary. Wicked smart, witty, and most importantly...never took it personally. In the end we found ourselves agreeing an awful lot. I figured it was either the cancer drugs, or we had convinced each other of enough stuff that we had finally met in the middle. I think the most important aspect to Todd was that he was a good man....period. He fought cancer like a warrior, he helped anyone who needed it, and he loved to share knowledge. What more can I say.
See you on the other side pal, you were a good mensch .

Man. :(

No one has had a bigger impact on my shooting than Todd; I had the good fortune to attend AFHF in '10, and then AFHF/ACW in '11, but I'll never forgive myself for missing the last AFHF here in OKC in '12.

But the best part of Todd wasn't just the shooting and training, it was Todd. I'm just some dork nobody from Oklahoma, but Todd was always great to me, or at least masked his disdain very well ;p Whether joking here on the forum in the early days, or on Facebook later, Todd was a fun guy and always in good spirits. TLG was just flat out "good people".

As saddened as I am by this, I can only imagine the hurt for those of you who knew him so well for so long. My prayers out to you folks and his family.

I wandered across this site and ToddG's words a long time after I thought I was a decent shooter. It was then that his typed words and those of others started me on the path to the 'beginning' of knowledge about this sport. One of the elite has left us. I believe it was either Precision Shooting or The Accurate Rifle magazine that had a, "Left the Range" post where those who were most noted in their sport would have a page of remembrance. The last sentence was often, "We are diminished." Very true words in Todd's case as well.

I never had the opportunity to take a class from him or meet him. I was drawn to this site based on his postings (and soon enough, many others here). This site is different than others, in a good way, and I think he was the reason for that. Anyway, I was trying to figure out how to run an LEM trigger gooder/faster/mo better, and his postings on the matter (along with nyeti) really put the whole system into another light for me. He did the same with high round counts on pistols and expecting them to go 2000 rounds between cleanings. He crushed a lot of pre-conceived notions, and did it in a humorous way. I will regret not being able to take a class with him. Godspeed TLG.

Shocked. The moment I read this on FB, I started thinking of the Vikings and Valhalla and I came upon this poem (http://allpoetry.com/poem/2481861-Dedication--The-Halls-of-Valhalla-by-Lord-Merlynn) and this stanza stood out:

Back to the beginning...
And lo, they do call me,
In the halls of Valhalla
Where the brave may live forever!"

I'm lucky enough to have trained with Todd in '12 at AFHF. I'm lucky enough to have been a part of this community since '11. I'm lucky enough to have met many of you and traded thoughts online for so long. I'm lucky, b/c it was Todd who brought us together. I appreciated Todd. I enjoyed his company in person the few times I saw him and his unfailing courtesy in our correspondence. I always enjoyed his writing and thinking. I did not always agree with his conclusions but you could tell that he reasoned to them instead of emoting to them, and they were always worth serious consideration. They did my shooting, and my thinking about shooting generally, a world of good. My thoughts are with his family and friends today.

Todd's determination to keep fighting to the end was an inspiration, and his influence as a trainer will be felt for decades in this community.

I just made a donation to Rampage, and think I'll head out to the range this afternoon to shoot the FAST a few times.

My sincerest condolences to his wife and family.

F***, that sucks.

I took Speed Kills/Get SOM from him. He was a great instructor, teacher and coach. I have learned far more about shooting over the last 5-6 years, very slowly, through P-T/P-F, had the honor of being one of many to help test the Gadget...but the most I ever gained from Todd was a 5 minuto conversation about instructing. He told me that you couldn't just be an instructor. You had to be a teacher and a coach as well. You needed to understand adult learning theory just as well as being able to diagnose what a shooter is doing wrong, or coming up with/running a good drill. Essentially: the ability to communicate a skill in a variety of ways was more important than just being able to show the skill and ask someone to repeat it.

He profoundly impacted my shooting and teaching, as well as my general level of humor. This forum was really funny with him here. He will be sorely missed.

I had the opportunity to take AFHF twice, and saw big improvement in my skills. He was the one who really taught me how to practice pistol shooting to see real improvement. I was hoping he would get well enough to be able to teach again so I could learn more from him.

I remember going out to eat with him and a few members here after completing his class talking about guns, training, life, etc. He genuinely cared about his students and had a great sense of humor.

I remember a bunch of things about you, Todd. I remember your spirited and fiery debating that made me think so much. I remember how you thought I hated your method of shooting on the move, but I actually loved it, think it's great, and teach it now. I also remember how you trolled me in AFHF. ;)

Most of all, I remember how you inspired me, Todd. I was just starting to seriously pursue technical skills, and I saw posts detailing your FAST performance. At the time, I didn't know that such shooting and gunhandling was possible with carry gear from concealment. Thank you for providing the example that inspired me so much. I'll never forget you.

Rest In Peace, Todd Louis Green.

Back in the early 2000s, Todd and Ernie Langdon came down to AZ for the state IDPA match, run for the first time by our friend Kurt Von Rice. Kurt had some ambitious ideas for the match, including night stages. Unfortunately things started dragging and we were unable to do the night shoot. Todd and I roamed the range, collecting all the night stage scorecards from the shooters. Then we got spare keys to Kurt's SUV from his wife. We wrote DNF in big letters across the score sheets, Scotch taped them to the vehicle's windows, and drove it onto the range to rib Kurt (who took it in the friendly vein in which it was intended). That was a fun match, and one of the last times I saw Todd in person.

This sucks.

I remember when I first encountered and interacted with Todd online, we did not just go at it, we went at with hammer and tongs. Back and forth on a couple of forums, with vitriol and immature anger (on my part). Then, when we met in person over dinner, I realized that his sarcasm that I despised so much online was almost always first directed at himself, and he was the first one to laugh when the joke was on him. Not only did we become friends then and there, he immediately took it upon himself to offer advice, moral support, and public encouragement on my efforts to teach and do seminars. He always had time to pat me on the back or push me to get myself out there more.

Some people slotted Todd in the non-tactical category because he never served mil or LE. I am telling anyone who will listen that he was a warrior to the bone. No one kicks cancer's ass for so long like he did without being a bad ass MoFo. I hope that I can face the Reaper like he did and say out loud "bite me buddy".

RIP TLG. Thank you for your friendship, inspiration, and your writing. Hold a spot on the line for me.

I first met Todd in early 2005, when he was my Sig rep. I called him up in a fit of frustration and said "Your guns effing suck. I hate Sigs." Todd's reply: "let's meet at the range and work through it". Todd became my training partner for the next three years and a good friend for more than a decade. I met Todd when I had been carrying a gun for a living for nearly a decade, but Todd taught me how to shoot and how to train. More than that, he was my friend.

In about 2011/2012 I decided to get serious about shooting. A search of the internet for drils, technique and I came upon Todd's blog. Soon thereafter the forum....

During this time I kept seeing Origami's videos and I noticed something very distinct. He was training in my range! Then one day he posted he planned to take the plunge and shoot USPSA. I had literally shot just a match or two myself but sure enough I spotted him at a match. I recognized him from his videos. No joke, he was looking to download all his carry guns. Origami and I have been friends since.

A couple matches later Origimi told me that some friends of his were bringing in Todd for AFHF and there was an opening if I wanted it! This was the first time in my life I ever paid for training with my own money.

I shot the class in duty gear with a P30 LEM!

Todd was an amazing instructor and I learned so much. He really was a huge inspiration at a pivotal moment in my "career." He was a good guy. His class was top notch. He was a great instructor and had good information. For somebody who wasn’t a top level competitor or prior military/LE he was able to build a successful brand.

I posted the below on my TYV FB page.

He and I very often disagreed, disliked one another, talked shit behind each other's backs, fought, argued, and generally did not get along.

But, I do believe he contributed a lot to the training industry, and the firearms community as a whole. The idea that people should be accountable for their training, quantifying & documenting their progress, and defending their opinions based in facts and experiences, were all ideas that he vehemently championed.

In addition the idea that a non-LE, non-military, regular dude has something to contribute to the discussion when the topic is folks of a similar background and their self-defense choices.

He also reached out to me personally at a time when my life was turning itself upside down, which always meant a lot to me and changed my opinion of him as a person for the better.

I'm sorry to see him go, and I will miss our disagreements tremendously.

When I got out of work and saw that BaiHu had contacted me about this, my heart wrenched.

He was a fantastic instructor, and I took 3 of his courses. They were not only the most productive courses I've taken in developing skill, but they were the most fun. He was incredibly influential in where I took my shooting goals/skill development, and I'm glad that I had the chance to interact with him. All of you guys who never got a single class in with him......ya'll really did miss out.

Probably one of the best memories I have of him are sitting in a hotel lobby with BaiHu and Todd, and the ensuing horribly unPC conversations that developed...which prompted hotel guests give us looks as they walked by. God damn, his conversations were great.

In his afterlife, I hope heaven accepts his Archer innuendos and puns, because otherwise Heaven is in for a shock. I'm sure he won't have time for it though, because he's probably already found a Belgian Mal that is eating up his time.

I've known Todd since the early days of IDPA. He was at a lot of the same major matches as me. I remember that a few of the usual suspects, Todd among them, would go out to dinner with much conversation.

The last time I saw him was a few years ago at Fort Harmar. Todd had come to Ohio to visit with Ken Hackathorn and was at one of the Sunday Study Groups. Todd was in his Glock phase and he had a New York trigger spring in his G-17. I had a spare regular trigger spring in my bag that he used to improve the trigger. I am sorry he is gone. Man. I felt like I was slapped in the face when I saw this thread today. Probably 95% of what I do with a pistol relates directly back to what I've learned from Todd's influence on his site and this forum, and like many here, I never had the privilege of meeting the man personally. I was fortunate enough to interact with him once or twice on his site.

My wife was surprised at my sadness for what she described as an "online friend", which is a generous term because Todd never knew me. I had to explain to her that for the last 8+ years, other than email, pistol-training and pistol-forum are the only sites I visit and I check them daily. So yeah, Todd has had a major impact on my life. Truly saddened and thinking of his family.

I took my Beretta 92D to the range this afternoon, partially to re-confirm zero after Tooltech re-lamped my tritium sights, partially to prep for this weekend's IDPA match, and partially in thought of Todd. He and I had some good discussions on Berettas-he disagreed with my choice of the Wolff TCU trigger return assembly (which is in it to this day), I in turn disagreed with his disagreement-but as in all things, I appreciated his discussion, and how my, and others' lives were enriched (and skill-sets increased) due to our interactions.

While I wasn't thinking of Todd when I strapped the Beretta on this morning, it turned out to be a commemoration of sorts that I think he'd appreciate...

I never knew Todd, met Todd, or spent any significant amount of time with him other than being on this forum and following his posts and articles for years. I would've loved to have taken a class but just simply wasn't able to when he was still teaching.

I had a sick feeling the last few days; I lost a dear friend to Leukemia a few months ago and he kind of dropped out of things (facebook, etc.) after making some rebounds and definite hard times. I only say that to say; I'm glad Todd took the time away and I hope that it was fruitful. He always seemed to know the right thing to do at the right time. I went through a lot of life (ups, downs, and otherwsie) surfing these and other forums he contributed to, and I genuinely enjoyed the guy, his perspective, abilities, articles, tests, and great attitude. I'll miss him and his contributions dearly, and I just pray for his family and friends through this process for peace and comfort.

He influenced me and those around me profoundly and I will forever be grateful having known him. I first met Todd a million years ago when he was at Beretta and managing the old Beretta_L email list before firearms forums were really a thing. Over the years his impact on my shooting and training has been subtle but significant, and the FAST is now and will probably always be the drill I teach to shooters as the "if you're only going to run one drill, it needs to be this one" drill. We are certainly diminished. Rest in peace, TLG, you will be missed.

My favorite Todd story. I was in a AFHF class in Sacramento, 2012 I think. So it was the second day of class and the students were paired up doing action vs. reaction with a partner. Me and my partner decided to challenge ourselves and choose a different target than what Todd had told us to shoot at. He was walking down the line checking students progress, pointing out issues or faults. As Todd walked up to us, my partner had told me nice job (I had beat him on that string). Todd, in his most "snarky" (I am pretty sure that the term snarky was invented because of Todd) way of pointing things out says "Yeah, nice job, except you didn't hit the target". Neither of us told him we had picked different targets, we just smiled as he shook his head and started back down the line. As he was walking away, he heard us say "Let's shoot at this target now". He turns around, comes back to us and says "I am a deuche-bag, I didn't realize you were shooting at different targets, that was a nice job".....He didn't have to come back and say that, but he did. He instantly earned my respect at that point and that simple gesture told me what kind of person he was. Love him or hate him, he impacted a lot of people in his too short life, and he had a huge impact on me for sure. I wish I could have known him better, but am grateful for the few moments I had with him. RIP Todd, you will be missed and remembered.

A novena for your soul, and the litanies of Mary and Joseph for the comfort and strength of those who were close to you.

I first started arguing and agreeing with Todd in '97 on the idpa list (or uspsa, or some other place where I didn't know what I didn't know). Years later GJM sent me here, and I'm very sorry I didn't manage to train with Todd though I came to admire him. The community he formed is now important to me.

I hadn't read the forum today until I went to post today's range report. In it, I describe shooting a cold FAST with a P30LEM. Honest to God, I dropped the first head shot and screamed 'DAMN IT!'

Todd and I are the same age. Memento, homo, quia pulvis es, et in pulverem reverteris.

Though I never met Todd face to face, he has been an enormous influence in my personal and professional life.

The people I have met through Todd and the training I have received from those people are far from the least of the gifts he gave me.

Several times I had the opportunity to take a class with him and for various reasons did not. I will regret those decisions for the rest of my life.

RIP TLG.

I had the chance to meet and train with Todd at Ernest Langdon's class last September in VA. Todd had a good laugh watching me do a thumb-over-slide press check on a very hot Beretta 92...exposed barrels get hot quick...lesson learned. Later that night at dinner, we had a good time laughing about that teaching moment over some Mexican food. Todd was with friends that weekend and I got the vibe real quick that he meant a great deal to them. He truly made a huge impact on many people doing something he loved. I hope we all could be so lucky in this often too cruel and short time on earth.

RIP Todd Green. I never got to take one of his classes but ironically in a sense he's probably had the biggest impact on me as a pistol shooter, based on his posts at m4c, his blog and this forum. I really appreciated his great intellect and insight. One could tell that he was a renaissance man, and he cultivated a kind of elevated pistol culture of knowledge, training and awareness that stripped away the bullshit and elevated one's understanding. There is no other way I can put it. This forum is a further testament to this elevated pistol culture of knowledge and awareness he created and if I could I would get all shooters to come and learn from here. Thank you Todd Green.

I have lots of things to say, but none of them are coming out right. So instead, here's a fun story about me and Todd getting up to some shenanigans:

We both attended separate classes at the same facility. Todd took a beginner's level class to see how they did things as he was briefly flirting with doing beginners instruction.

In Todd's class there was a young man from Chicago with absolutely no experience with firearms whatsoever. He was struggling and wasn't getting enough individual attention to really help him given the size of the class. So after class on the second day Todd calls me and says "Tim, this guy needs individual help and I've seen what you can do with new shooters...you're the perfect guy to help him, dude. These other guys aren't going to." The man knew how to play on my sympathies.

So I grab my trust range-bag Glock 17 that goes with me to just about every class just-in-case, and we ambush him outside his room. "Hey! This is my friend Tim. And he's going to help you get sorted out."

And then for the next two hours we basically forced this kid to dryfire. Pretty much against his will. He did it, but he wasn't exactly enthusiastic about this development. After 2-2.5 hours of this...with the kid pouring sweat by the end of it...he asked for a break. As he left to go smoke a cigarette I told Todd "You know he's going to go out there, dial 911, and tell the cops that he's being held against his will by two armed white dudes." We both found the prospects of explaining to the local constabulary that we had been forcing this kid to learn marksmanship fundamentals to be utterly hilarious. We both ended up on the floor laughing our ass off. "He could have left at any time! We actually GAVE him a gun! Sure, it was unloaded but that didn't matter for Patty Hearst!"

He came back in after a long smoke break and Todd made a reference to Monty Python and the Holy Grail that the kid didn't get because he'd never seen the movie. I just happened to have a DVD of that movie in my car, at that time equipped with a DVD player. So then we forced him to watch The Holy Grail for a bit. I threw in the towel personally after a while because at that point I really was concerned that we were bordering on a serious felony.

The next day the kid goes back on the line and where he had been the worst guy there in terms of marksmanship and handling, he was suddenly one of the top shooters. He actually contacted me sometime later asking if he could get a picture Todd took of him in that class, and thanking the both of us for Shanghai-ing him into a better shooter.

This site and pistol-training, with all the knowledge you poured into them introduced me to whole new, more serious side of shooting; helped me weed out derp from non-derp and set me on the path to shooting righteousness. I'm sitting here wondering why I'm so upset about a person I never met passing away and it finally came to me. It's not about whether I met him, it's not about being best buds, it's about the impact, and Todd had a huge impact on me. He is the reason my family is safer, he is the reason I'm not only a better shooter, but a better person who sees all the angles all the possible repercussions of my decisions and actions. Todd Green was a great man not only because he taught me that if I fuck up I will die, but because my actions and my decisions have an impact on a lot more than just me. Todd, I just ordered a shot timer and I will be shooting a FAST drill EVERY time I'm at the range for myself, but also in your remembrance. THANK YOU!

GJM

Todd innately understood marketing. The FAST was brilliant, and my recollection is that he modeled it on the Rogers School testing. Think of how many folks took AFHF again, to get a shot at that coin.

Reflect on the unveiling of whatever was his latest test pistol -- where folks might even solve a jigsaw puzzle, a bit at a time, to see what the next pistol Todd was testing, which inevitably might be the pistol they would be running.

Todd understood the concept of a training journal. Ten or fifteen years ago, who would have thunk someone would write down what they were practicing, and that many others would find that interesting.

I think he lived at the perfect time in history, to do what he did so well -- excepting I wish cancer cures were further ahead now.

I had the pleasure of taking 4 classes with Todd and honestly enjoyed the lunches, after class dinners, day before meetings, and just general harassment from Todd almost as much as I enjoyed his style of personal instruction. There are very few people who can "mind fuck" me like he did right before a drill. I like him because of it. I remember most often when we talked about ways of getting better he constantly reminded me to keep learning. But that specifically meant self review and peer review at the point I was rather than just continuing to spend money on returning to his class. For Todd it was always about the road to get to the destination rather than just the means to an end. He talked to me often of how Ernest, SLG, Richard, Dave, and countless others influenced his shooting abilities and shaped him as the shooter he was. If there was one thing I liked most about Todd, it was the fact it was never about Todd. He gave credit out more than he ever claimed and tooted the horns of all those who came up before him and with him.

Although we all sit around and lift him up tonight as he goes to another level far above me/us, Todd would never let the conversation turn to himself. He would defer and praise others so I'll do the same. To all of you that ever had a discussion with Todd, shot with Todd as a friend, taught Todd as an instructor, learned from him as a student, or just knew him in your own special way, Thank You! I feel in some small way, that I have benefitted from the fact that Todd knew you, and I knew Todd. RIP my friend and I will always cherish those talks and times we had. May the LORD comfort all of your family and friends in this time of need. GODSPEED

You know, I was thinking about this whole thing earlier today, about Todd mentioning a few years ago that he wondered what role solvent exposure had played in his developing cancer at a young age.

I have no idea if that was ever resolved, or if it could or should be. But one thing that really changed in my life was that after that comment, I began using nitrile gloves when cleaning my guns. And then I started focusing on other sources of chemical exposure, like tumbling brass. And nowadays, when I'm working on boats or cars or bikes, I'm really careful with solvents and oils, and it all traces back to that one comment he made.

So this morning I went on this little rant on FB in which I tagged a bunch of my shooting friends, which I'm just going to allude to here: my personal tribute to Todd is that I have become very conscious about chemical exposure, which is a very real threat in the shooting business, in my opinion.

I think that there's not much better way to honour a guy than to use him as a motivation to keep yourself and your family safe. So all the shooting tips and skills aside, which I might never use to extend my life, there's something I got from him that I'm absolutely certain is going to help me live longer and healthier, and that's materials handling safety.

And if I could hope for one positive thing to come out of this, it would be that everybody in the shooting game, and in particular those who knew or learned from Todd Green, take stock of their off-range safety practices, specifically in regards to chemical exposure. I didn't know Todd especially well, although I was fortunate to take Aim Fast Hit Fast from him a number of years ago. But I feel certain that he would like the idea of people using his memory as a motivating factor to keep themselves healthy.

Anyway, that's how I'm approaching this loss.

I took several classes from Todd and while I wasn't as close to him as many here he had been in my home and played with my dogs and I was honored to call him a friend. I have another close friend who was on her second round of chemo for ovarian cancer today so this hit hard.

His analytical nature meshed with mine and while I never could reach his level of note taking and detail I learned from him and strived to improve. He taught several techniques differently that I had originally learned and while I didn't adopt all of them several did work their way into my toolbox. Of all the shooting things the piece I remember most was his concern of lead poisoning post shooting in the restroom, to this day that discussion is still in the back of my mind.

The most memorable post class dinner I've ever attended took place after one of the OKC AFHF at Cracker Barrel. Ed L had ordered some sort of catfish and after about 7 tries they still could not get his order right. It became so ridiculous that Ed accused us of orchestrating the whole thing; by the end of the night most of the table was in tears.

RIP Todd and may your previous furry friends be waiting for you at the Rainbow Bridge. Thoughts to his wife, family and friends.

Such sad news, his family and friends are in my thoughts and prayers. Just about everything I do in terms of shooting, training, and self defense can be traced back to Todd in some way -- influenced either directly by his articles, posts, and drills, or indirectly by other instructors he made me aware of or the people he brought together in this community. His absence will always be felt. Each of our own journeys of self improvement will come to an end one day, but what we've taught and inspired others to do will live on, compounding over time and accomplishing more than any one man ever could. Todd leaves behind a remarkable legacy even to those who never had the pleasure to meet or train with him.

Todd was a phenomenal instructor. He taught me how to shoot more accurately, faster but more than the shooting skill watching how good he was at teaching made me a better instructor.

I was fortunate to host one of the last classes he taught before he was forced to retire from instructing.

I lost my 48 year old mother to RCC in 2009 so this is bringing up a lot memories.

I attended AFHF in Rhode Island in 2012 where I met Baihu and TGS, among others. From the insane torrential rains of day one to Todd's fear of snakes "spraying out from the earth" after removing a stake from the ground on day two, it will be a class I will never forget.

Here's an old cell phone video of Todd shooting a 5.5 FAST with the Springfield. I love his reaction when he learned he had a clean run just over 5 seconds.

Thank you Todd, not only for all you accomplished but for being the type of person you were.

RIP. Never got to meet him, but man did Todd and this place have an outsized impact on my development as a shooter. Also, the teaching nuggets, I've learned and passed on. Todd has left a legacy.
So, gratitude for all of that, and also thanks for the contributions of the folks here. From the SMEs to the normal posters here, this place has been a great place to spur rational discussion and share ideas.

I was able to take Aim Fast Hit Fast several times. Todd was a great teacher and really jumped my performance up and gave me the training bug.

After really messing up a FAST drill that would have won me a coin he told me, "Well, the good news is you suck less than last time." For some reason hearing the news that is the first thing that came to mind. I enjoyed the candor and pushing. Classes were always serious, Todd a little less so.

I am grateful I had the privilege. I wish I could have known him better.

I attended AFHF in early 2012. It was enormously influential on me as a shooter. I was also blown away by his abilities as a teacher and speaker. He was as precise with his words as with his pistol. I felt I was barely good enough to actually belong in the class and always intended to ramp up to take another class. I was saddened to learn he was unable to continue teaching but I had hoped against hope he would eventually be able to teach again. F*ck cancer indeed.

My thoughts are with his family and friends.

I never had the opportunity to meet or train with Todd, but I certainly learned quite a bit from him and others on this site he started. I'll also echo others in appreciation of Todd's ability to disagree or lead to correction without belittling. I came here initially defending the M&P platform, which by now we all know has some accuracy issues in 9mm. Todd politely showed me the error of my ways and gave me some things to try. Of course in turned out he was right and even when I apologized to him, he was gracious instead of rubbing it in my face.

Thank you Todd for all you've done for us students of the pistol and may the grace and peace of God carry those you leave behind on this Earth.

I had a customer that just ordered an SME, and he emailed to ask if I could put Todd's initials on the holster, since it was Todd's influence that prompted him to buy the SME. Of course I was going to oblige his request, but it really got me thinking. Since Todd and SLG are the only reason that the SME even exists, I figure it is fitting to acknowledge it from now on, in memoriam. All SME's from this point forward will have the following stamped on the back...

Never met Todd but his writings have definitely influenced my views and ideas about shooting (as well as leading me to join the aiwb cult 😁) RIP

Todd was very helpful with my own business and graciously provided me with information and answered any / all questions that I had for him. Great influence in my pistol shooting and he welcomed me to this site and encouraged participation here about the time I was pushing back from social media and the www in general, including forums. Because of this I will always have a special connection with Todd and this site.

Aloha 'Oe Todd.

Just saw this, terrible news. I'd first encountered Todd on the Beretta-L, and Tactics-L lists where he was an amazing arguer/debater. Then I met him at the first Vickers class with 10-8, where he was one of the best shooters with his P229 DAK .357Sig. John Noveske(RIP) had a shorty AR that wouldn't work, and Larry was busting John's balls, so Todd (who was working for Sig at the time) whipped out a full auto Sig 552 shorty which of course worked like a charm. When Todd opened his own training company I signed up for the first class in Pittsburgh. He told some great stories about the industry and was a fun guy to hang around with. I know many of you were close friends with him, my condolences.

RIP Todd.

A while back, someone sent me these pictures of me and Todd in the AFHF class out here in 2012. Kind of blurry and maybe not the best pictures, but they are the only ones I have and it seems like a good time to share.

When I saw the thread title I thought that it couldn't be. Unfortunately I never met ToddG, or most of you on here, but I would like to say thanks to all for making this forum possible.

My condolences to all family and friends.

My experiences with Todd have been echoed a dozen times in this thread. I never shook his hand, but was honored to have corresponded with him quite a bit. There's at least one article I couldn't have written without his help. Ironically, it published just a few days ago. The gut punch I'm feeling over the loss of someone I've never met in person is quite a testament to the man himself.

I was at Tac-Con this past weekend. Watching so many of Todd's friends power through their emotions and teach their blocks knowing how advanced his disease had become was a throat-lumping experience.

RIP, sir and thanks for everything.
