CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — Jesse L. Matthew Jr., 33, pleaded guilty to killing University of Virginia sophomore Hannah Graham, 18, of Fairfax County, on Sept. 13, 2014, and Virginia Tech student Morgan Harrington in a similar abduction in 2009. Forensic anthropologists examined the skeletons in both cases. The guilty pleas in an Albemarle County court — to two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of abduction with intent to defile — were part of an agreement with prosecutors that spared Matthew the possibility of facing the death penalty if convicted at trial in Graham’s murder. Circuit Court Judge Cheryl V. Higgins sentenced Matthew to four life terms, added to the three life terms he is serving for a brutal sexual assault in Fairfax County in 2005. He was convicted in that case last year. As part of the deal, Matthew may not appeal or seek geriatric release, ensuring that he will die in custody.

How long before someone pulls some strings and the feral is let loose again?

How long before someone pulls some strings and the feral is let loose again?

The Supreme Court recently ruled that it was unconstitutional to sentence a juvenile to life imprisonment and there is a growing movement pushing the idea that there is an "international consensus" (by which they mean Europe--not Japan or China) that long sentences are cruel and unusual also.

Putting aside that "cruel and unusual" doesn't mean "sentences that law professors don't like", if Scalia is replaced by a lefty there is a good chance that within ten years long sentences will be unconstitutional.

Anyway, the short translation of that is that the courts might indeed release this guy at some point so he can prey on young women again.

Something, something, "And one day you realize the puppy is now a full grown dog, and you whip out a pistol and shoot it."

Sounds like a R A H quote about raising children.

Virginia does not have parole, so that's pretty unlikely.

That is for now. As said, laws get changed.

I think violent felons (or the criminally insane as my insensitive generation said) should have to have an actual sponsor to be released.
Actual sponsor to be liable for future damages and reincarceration. You better have wealthy buds to put up a large bond if you want to get out early.

I leu of long unconstitutional sentences they should be exported to the nearest international community who opposes such long sentences and then barred entry back. Those folks can spend their $$ and daughters helping out.

Colonel Dubois to Johnny Rico in H&MP class; he was using raising a dog as a metaphor for raising kids/maintaining a civilized society.

+10 but the sad fact is they would not have to be exported internationally, there are to many people here that feel the same way.

This hit tooooooo FUCKING close to home for me! In today's local paper The Front Page story is: FAMILIES SATISFIED WITH GUILTY PLEA....WTF/OVER!

I would not have been surprised if one of the Graham or Harrington family members pulled a Gary Plauche!
