Stuck 2 pc recoil guide rod

Hello All,
I have had a Star BM 9mm for many years for which I had no problem replacing the recoil spring. I recently acquired another one and intended to replace the recoil spring on it as well. These older pistol models have a 2 pc guide rod, captive spring system (guide head pc screws off of the rod in order to change the spring). On this one the two pieces are stuck ... I have soaked several times in liquid wrench and have tried heating it up ... no success. Any ideas?

See if Numrich/Quality Parts has a replacement assembly....

Very few parts available for a BM, unless you buy a spare BM.
I checked. 6263
That's a BKM, which complicates matter a bit. (The scarcity of parts is why I convinced Mrs. Drang that she needed to upgrade to something more common for self-defense.)
But the Stars are nice pistolas, done in by a combination of Spanish and US socialism. (Spain nationalized the gun industry, we passed Brady.)
