After my recent rescue of a Beretta victimized by this family firm* of butchers, err "gunsmiths", its high time we shared stories of guns we've seen damaged and abused by this firm of villainy.

I'll start with this. I spotted an M9A1 sitting in the used case with a $470.00 price. For the store I spotted it at , that's a screaming deal. I found out why a split second after the salesman pulled it from the case.

The magwell was dremeled, with accompanying overrun damage on the grips. I felt the trigger and knew it either had a comp hammer spring-or Bubba cut the factory one, but to change the spring he'd have to unscrew the grips, which hed plainly not done when 'polishing' the magwell.

The poor gun deserved better.

I plunked down the cash and took it home. Found out at the range that Bubba indeed cut the factory spring. Light strikes gave that away.

This story has a happy ending though. There's a new WC spring in it , and come tax refund time I'll send it off to get refinished.

Background checks and waiting periods for dremmel tools, and a tax on dremmel accessories to fund restoration programs.

Do it for the children! Besides, no honest man needs a high wattage Dremel .

Once some time ago when the gunsmith I normally use (who does nice work on 1911s and wheelguns) was unavailable for several months I took three Colt pistols to someone else to have front sight dovetails cut. When I picked up the guns I discovered that the dovetails were not cut in exactly the same position nor were they cut to precisely uniform depths. I was dismayed, but fortunately my normal gunsmith was able to make things right. That was a lesson learned the hard way.

I assume there's a pillow on the stock to try and get the right cheek weld.

I dig the cap'n'ball. How can you go wrong with a mosin bayonet? The forward grip seems ill placed, considering the cylinder gap.

This Glock 17 would fail to reliably cycle. Found this.

It appears the slide hit nose first and bent the recoil spring guide ring. Then sent the slide for NiB-X coating as the coating is not disturbed and clearly shows the underlying metal stress.
