Are there any pistol classes or instructors you all could recommend in the Dallas Fort Worth area? I would like a class that would include home defense/concealed carry scenarios and would have a small class size. My wife and I have been recreational pistol shooters for years. We know how to focus on the front sight and are decent target shooters, but we have had no formal instruction. A class could be instructive and fun and improve our skills. If you would prefer your recommendations not to be public, please feel free to PM me.

Without question, your first choice in Dallas would be Wayne Dobbs and Darryl Bolke, who both participate here. See http://hardwiredtacticalshooting.com/instructors .

Both of these men can do as well as teach. Highly recommended!

I'll second this recommendation. My experience with them has been very good.

As another option, if you are open to a few hours drive I would also suggest you take a look Paul Howe's courses at CSAT http://www.combatshootingandtactics.com/
It's a bit out of the way, but well worth the trip.

Wayne and Darryl ... again.

Another option not to far from DFW would be Jim Smith at Spartan Tactical. While Smith is former .MIL, and best known for rifle courses, he has has several years teaching with the FAMS (Federal Air Marshal Service) , FFDO (Federal Flight Deck Officer) program and other federal LE instruction so he has a stronger handgun and CONUS background than many other former .MIL instructors.

Awesome! I've been waiting for the class schedule to come out. My main new years resolution is to get MOAR TRAINING!

Their safety brief alone is definitely worth attendance in a class.

I am a repeat customer.

Repeat customer.....? Tony C is a repeat customer. You are an official member of the team as the official HiTS Den mother.

Another repeat customer for Wayne and DB. They offer excellent classes with some VERY interesting shooting problems.

I just started using this range. They're way out in Argyle, but it's the only range I've found in the area that allows you to "rapid fire" and draw from a holster .

I highly recommend getting on the wait list for Dallas Pistol Club if you aren't already a member. I know when my membership went through, I was actually only the wait list for about a year.
