The demonization won't work.

I should know better, and generally stand mute when I encounter a shrill, Gunz R Sceery, types, but every now and then the self-righteous idiocy gets to be too much on social media or wherever, leaving me to point out that the NRA is arguably the nation's oldest civil rights organization, and no one has sold more guns in the past 7 years than Mr. Obama. The gnashing of teeth ground to a nub ensues, much to my evil glee.

A former CIA Pakistan station chief, in his recent book "88 Days to Kandahar" had this to say about Obama: He is “more disposed than most politicians to believe that his words [are] indistinguishable from facts.”

Since most politicians think that their words are pretty much indistinguishable from facts, it is an extremely damning criticism of Obama--and it certainly fits this situation.

waiting for the next time the NRA does their $300 life member special. I'm going to sign up my kid and possibly a friend of mine, as "gifts". :D

Every time Obama mentions the NRA I send them $20.
It's turning into one expensive game of bullshit bingo for me.

It's funny because he authorized the dumping of arms and ammunition in Syria when his plan to train rebels failed. https://www.wsws.org/en/articles/2015/10/13/syri-o13.html I'm sure the NRA made him do it.

Don't give him any ideas. If they read this board, his political advisors will be leaking that story to the New York Times within the week.

Given the record number of gun sales in the last 7 years, I think his words are falling on deaf ears.

I think the record number of gun sales is proof people are listening to him, they've just come to a different conclusion than he has.

COOPER: You praised their policies over and over. Back in 2008, you said — you talked about bitter Americans clinging to their guns. Even now, these executive actions tended to cause a lot of concern among a lot of people. What can you say to somebody tonight to convince them that you don’t want to take away everybody’s guns? That you’re not coming for their guns?

OBAMA: Well, first of all, Anderson, I think it’s useful to keep in mind, I’ve been, now, president for over seven years, and gun sales don’t seem to have suffered during that time.

COOPER: If anything, actually, you’ve helped.

OBAMA: They’ve — they’ve — gone up. I’ve — been very good for gun manufacturers.

I still say the ****er has gun stocks in his portfolio. I know the president can't manage his own investments while serving, but that doesn't mean he didn't load up on every public gun stock he could find before running for office.
