Talk me down off the ledge.
I have a 327PC in my cart and I don't know why I want it... but I do.
8 rounds of .357mag, 2" barrel, 22oz. in weight, what's not to like?
What the heck is this thing good for?
Any holster's out there for this beast? Is it pocketable, ankle carry, AIWB?
I know I can justify it somehow, someway.
nyeti, I'm pretty sure you have one and have figured out a use for it.

Never mind. Thinking of wrong model.

Car gun. That's what DB uses his for, last I heard.

I have almost bought one several times. Its perfect for a car gun, but I have an excellent one that I "made" (via fitting a 2" M-64 barrel and ejector rod on a tired old SB M-66), and the two extra rounds afforded by the 327 just didn't seem worth a grand- which is what I could have gotten the thing for at the time. I think it "lists" for $1300 or something ridiculous like that.

It won't be fun to shoot; at all. It might- might- be tolerable with .38 wadcutters or similar bunny fart reloads, but you wouldn't want to go through a class with it. Then again, YOU might enjoy it…;)

Yup, the expensive, two-tone ugly pug nosed N frame is what I'm talking about.

It weighs the same as my 2" model 60 according to the specs, with N frame grips it shouldn't be any more punishing with light .357's than the model 60.

Set off inside a car, I think this would be like a neutron bomb; everybody dies, only the metal remains.

Close, but not quite. Of course, you wouldn't be able to hear anything for a while.

But aside from added manueverability, the short barrel adds blast and actual flame which can help in discouraging your basic carjacker.

The 60 is a pussycat compared to my 360 Sc/Ti .357, that thing is a beast.

Get it! I have a "similar" gun in a 7 shot 2.5" PC 686. They're fun to shoot & make for good conversation.

I had two 327pc's. I liked them and wanted them to work for me but it didn't work out. Mostly cause n frames don't work with my short fingers. (A 92fs has a too long trigger reach for me.) They are not bad with 357's like a 340pd or 329pd bad. Like what was said you probably won't want to go to a two day course with 357's but 38's would be ok. They are sighted in for 158gr bullets but the cylinder will get flame cut. I replaced my 327pc with a 386pd. I got a thread here about my 327 problem child. I'm not trying to discourage anyone from owning one just relating my experience.

I know; I've been carrying/shooting one since 2002.

With .38s...

Yep, but since they are made from steel, they hurt a heck of a lot less when used with .357's.

Now, one could argue that since a car/truck gun isn't going to be carried much and it therefore doesn't matter how much it weighs if it is a .357 it really should be made from steel like your 686.

I'm sure that there are extremely convincing arguments why one would want to buy an expensive, ultra-light, hand-crippling .357 for a car gun instead of a 686, but I haven't been able to convince myself with one of them yet.

I remember this thread, and coupled with 2 cracked Scandium frames (329 and 327) local shooters had a year or three apart and what I've heard too many knowledgeable shooters say I just can't bring myself to buy one. The only guy I've spoken with that's getting good results while still putting miles on the gun is using it in steel challenge and shooting sub-minor .38s through it.

I really want a TRR8, too.

But since we're spending Jody's money, sure. Buy one. Hell, buy two. :p

I had forgotten about that. There's no way, IMO, that ball/detent front lock arrangement on the yoke can withstand a steady diet of "magnums".

So are you going to tell us about the H&K you bought or just leave us guessing?

HK45 Tactical OD green frame and a USP9C stainless, both are V7 LEM
The Tactical was actually ordered before Christmas, the USP9C I just ordered. Both should be here in the next few days.

Nice pistols. I think you made a very good decision, one that your less-arthritis-ridden hands in the future will appreciate!
