A recent (2014) collection of data on tourniquets and hemostatic agents. More data than most folks will want, but interesting to browse.

Cool, thanks for sharing.

I just supplemented the SOFT-W-equipped Go Bag trauma/FAKs with pocket kits with SWAT-Ts, so this is timely indeed.

TQ's work - SOF-T's best, SWAT-t's better than nothing.
Hemostatic agents work - gauze is best (celox/quikclot), powder is better than nothing. - powder and quikclot was experienced to provide heat and discomfort, celox does not self-heat.
The faster the application and the quicker the transport to a medical facility capable of handling that level of wound, the greater the chances of survival and full recovery.

Then they go on for like a hundred pages of showing references for peer review materials.

Essentially what I posted a week ago from personal experience in another thread, except more scientific.

Also, with bleeding for only 45 seconds, there was negligible difference between regular gauze and hemostatics. When bleeding for 2-3 minutes prior to treatment, the rate of survivability with hemostatics was drastically better than regular gauze.
