The Chicago Tribune has leaned heavily against CCW and gun rights for many years.....lots of "scare" articles before and after passage of the new IL law.

Not surprisingly, Custodio the violent felon was given what I expect most of us would consider a slap on the wrist, relative to the offense. "Gun Crime" in Chicago goes on and on and on.....
I'm not surprised at the coppers reaction re the way he was treated. Many if not most, would be opposed to armed citizens, though if you have your LE creds you're likely in good shape. The "Chief" McCarthy is really a Fed, and he always spouts the anti-gun line.
