Scout light is a little rich or me. X300U saves an ounce or two, Fury would save some cash. I have an X300U on another rifle and I am happy with it but wondering about trying something different. Would be mounting on a keymod hand guard. Discuss, thank you.

I had a X300U on my patrol rifle for a few years. No problems with it.

Tried out an Inforce WMLx and liked it better. Better price too. X300U is now on the house pistol.

Saving cash is relative. I standardized on the x300, but move a couple of them around across several guns, both pistols and rifles. Three x300s was cheaper than 3 rifle lights and 3 pistol lights.

I just picked up a m600p fury for $200 on sale, included the tape switch. I love it so far. I would try to find one of those or a p2x 600 lumen model

I much prefer the switchology of a Fury over the X300s personally. I have 1" lights (either Furys or Cree upgraded Surefires) on my work guns and HD/utility carbines.

Ended up with Fury in IWC mount. Looked at the 300, either way looks nice. $105 for the 600 L Fury.

I had an X300 at 12 and found it to be nice when it worked but not the most practical setup. I now run a Surefire G2X in a Vltor/ADM mount on my work rifle. If the batteries die or the light craps out, I can swap out the light with the spare Surefire on my belt in less than 10 seconds.

There aren't many ways to mount an X300 that doesn't require removing the light from the rifle to change out batteries. When storing the rifle you can back the tailcap of the Fury off a turn and it won't get turned on accidentally and leave you with a dead light or one of those rare exploding batteries events.

Serious question, why does this matter to you?

I went X300U. No regrets.

Because I've been on a really long track with K9, the X300 batteries ran out and had to call an extended time out to get my light running again. Usually taking a light off to change batteries is just a minor inconvenience, but sometimes when there are real world time constraints, the difference between taking a couple seconds to swap lights and the time it takes to take off a light, replace batteries and remount the light is huge.

I work with a guy who has an e300 setup to he can change batteries with the light mounted, and it's a quick and practical setup.

Build it or buy it complete. I have the small version and is pretty kick ass, I'm a civy ymmv.

Got it. Is this (http://www.americandefensemanufacturing.com/view/product/108/)the light mount you're using? Does releasing tension on the lever also release tension on the light body, thereby allowing your quick-switch?

I'm not familiar with the e300, is that a model that's not too common, or was that a typo?

E300 was a typo should have been X300.

That's the light mount.

X300 works well with the KAC integrated front sight on the URX rails. I ran mine this way for awhile. But every time, I migrate back to a 6P variant. I like the ability to use a pressure switch, and if the switch fails, or the cord gets broken, i can use the button on the tailcap. Currently, the X300U's are on pistols and rifles get Furys, and the dual switch tailcap with pressure switch:

Rob, yes, the VLTOR mount you are referring to releases the light from the mount, and the mount from the rail, when the switch is released. I still run that mount even though it's big and heavy compared to newer mounts. It's rock solid.

I put an extra X300 on one until I could find something I liked better, As of now it works so well I have no plans to change anytime soon and I can swap between pistols if needed, added unintended bonus.

It looks like everybody runs there pressure switch up close to the magwell? How can you be dynamic in your grip while activating the pressure switch? Can you mount one up farther

I did have a 600P on my carbine. I love it, but I also really like the idea of a 12 o'clock mounted light.

When it comes to carbines however, I have no use for a "pistol" light. Enter the P3X Fury, riding in a Rosch Works front sight.

I'll be taking it through a low-light carbine course later in the month......will report back after it gets tested more than just in my backyard.

I use a pistol light at 12 o clock. Currently an apl, best solution I have had to date. Tail cap push lights have turned out to be a pain in the ass for me to keep on during shooting. The apl paddle has not been hard to keep on... what ever that is worth.

I would try and use a 500, 600 or 1k lumen light on a long gun.

I have a Scout Fury 600 lumen on my rifle right now and can't see myself wanting less light.

If price is an issue, you could go Scout Ultra (narrower beam) or P2x/P3x Tactical and a ring mount.

That P3X Fury is a HOSS!

I got to use one in a house for a couple of nights and I loved it. I use a P2X Fury and an X300U on another AR and they're both fine. I like the Fury better for a carbine application. Just seems easier to use.
