It's only $725 million: http://gizmodo.com/this-texas-ranch-for-sale-is-bigger-than-nyc-and-la-com-1719381281

A nice bonus is you wouldn't bother the neighbors when doing low-light shooting training:

At 510,527 acres (207,000 hectares), or 800 square miles (2,072 square kilometers), the Waggoner sprawls over six counties and is bigger than Los Angeles and New York City combined.

Low light shooting training involving navigating 300 miles to the best shooting spot :D

Pure fantasy to think about, but lord how beautiful it would be to own that much land just to muck around on.

There's some cheap land in west Texas. I almost bought some a few years ago, 500 acres at $120 per, the caveat being there was no developed road access, 40 miles off road and a 4wd vehicle was required. When I went to look at the land the terrain was bad enough that I couldn't make it in a Tacoma. When I went back and talked to the real estate agent he admitted that no one had been able to access the land in over 10 years.

My math says the $725 million asking price works out to $1,420 an acre. I would be in for one acre. Think we can buy this through crowd funding?

Let's setup an indiegogo!

I think Gadgetopia has a ring to it. That's enough real estate to test the original "gadget".

We'd need a private airline/helicopter service.

This has moneymaker written all over it!!

Too close to Houston.
Negative weather. Hard stop.

I'd be in for a few acres. Where are we putting the ranges?

Where? I thought the whole thing was gonna be a range.

The driveway would hold VCAST.

The west wing would be renamed AMIS.

The gym would be the AFHF area.

The motor pool would be filled with hot cars and bikes.

The basement would be run by Gabe turning gimpy gamers into tactical technicians that would dominate on and off the square range.

Wayne, Darryl and nyeti would turn the guest house into the wheelhouse.

The pool would be taken over by TGS for technical diving, basic and advanced life support.

Doc would run testing in the garden.

We'd turn the east wing into a FoF kill house....

Too many other things to add...someone else take over some details...

Nyeti and Sean and probably a bunch of others could put on "shooting from helicopters " sessions in the back 40,000.

Heck, we got any Warthog drivers here?

No, but 40,000 might work for our resident B1 driver!

I call an indoor-outdoor dojo with all the traditional Okinawan HTFU training devices we can get our hands on.

And a bourbon cabinet. Bourbon wing?

Nyeti can design the big-ass arms room. A tactical side for newfangled stuff and a cool side for 1911s and revolvers.

I wonder if Obama can find an excuse to grab this land as a "national monument."

Yes. And maybe a few side-by-sides.

A woodshop would be nice, with lots of nice woodworking machines.

I assume Darry wants to live in an adjoining lot to me because he knows he can always borrow a timer for me, I will have DA/SA HK pistols he can borrow, and my wife shoots well enough to protect him if his Uber job ends and he is full time on the new ranch.

I am right on the fence and considering banning AIWB in my open helicopter classes.

I would be happy to help feed everyone! :)

And contribute to the bourbon wing.

I haven't seen you take the credit you deserve for pushing this land to the market, yet.

Don't forget to leave some acreage for the HK and Colt factories.

We could place TLG's driving school track between the two.

Much like my participation here on the forum, I'll take a ten acre lot in a corner and just enjoy the show.
edit: I guess I can be an on-site draftsman for architectural drawings of all the new construction.

I think we have room for a full-scale Nürburgring copy.
