I have a USP 45 and have a problem with contacting the slide release while shooting with my weak hand palm that prevents slide lock.

I don't want to experiment with alternate grips etc to fix the issue. I want to have a spare slide release lever sent to a machinist or gunsmith and have the thickness of the release reduced. I was thinking having two of the miniature ledges milled off would do the trick.

Does anyone know someone who could do this with a quick turn around time?

Thanks,

Serp

I had problems like this with my P2000 a few years ago. The P2000 release is smaller than a USP release but I still a problems riding the release. I ordered a spare release and applied my true Bubba mastery.....Dremel tool and black rust paint applied with a Q-tip.....

Pre Bubba:

Post Bubba. I had no problems activating the release. It doesn't show well in the pics but I left a small ridge on the top of the lever, which gave me enough thumb contact.
