View Full Version : Semi-auto Shotgun Malfunctions
Is there a standard (think SPORTS in the AR world) response to a semi-automatic shotgun malfunction?
All this shotgun talk got me thinking about what one does for a failure to eject/extract, etc., when that FT_ is happening to their self-loading shotgun.

My plan, assuming I don't believe the shotgun is out of ammo, is to reach under the action with my support hand, and work the bolt operating handle (easier with a Nordic or equivalent), and if that doesn't fix it, it is time to go for the handgun. No handgun, go Nike.
Immediate action:
Lock the bolt to rear, hopefully ejecting whatever didn't go bang. Look or feel to ensure there is more ammo in the mag. Chamber a rd and do what is appropriate.
or,
Ditch gun and draw pistol.
Remedial action:
Empty gun, reload gun with fresh ammo.
