Ever read "The Weapon Shops of Isher" by A.E. vanVogt ? I have not thought about that SF book in 30 years but your post brought it to mind.

Good stuff!!!

However I will be accused of being a naysayer when I say - the other side won't see it this way.

I had an epiphany yesterday that the means to success to get what you want in America today is to be a special victim class. The plight of the Armed-American as a victim of bigotry is a means to help people understand the 2nd Amendment on what it means in a manner that has been successful for other groups. I am actually thankful for the gay community showing the way as to how to get what you want and what strategies work. The idea that "we just want to be treated like everyone else" has gone farther than the parades and in your face public displays of out of the mainstream activities that really turned the public and voters off. Heck, they got SCOTUS to make a "Compassion" decision instead of a "Constitutional" decision. There is much to be learned from others success.

Agreed. You just painted a bullseye on your chest, DB.

And I say that in a non-critical manner. Kudoes for having the brass to do it.

I read the title and thought you had a birthday which put you in the special victim class of being an elderly person. My bad.

and to think I saw this thread, and figured Darryl swore off HK pistols and would be only carrying a wheel gun for the foreseeable future.

Also a pair of novels, AmazonSmile: The Weapon Shops of Isher eBook: A. E. van Vogt: Kindle Store (http://www.amazon.com/The-Weapon-Shops-Isher-Vogt-ebook/dp/B00GSZU26S/ref=pd_sim_351_1?ie=UTF8&refRID=1JV8YVNADQMT0DHCKD5H) and AmazonSmile: The Weapon Makers (Isher Book 2) eBook: A. E. van Vogt: Books (http://www.amazon.com/Weapon-Makers-Isher-Book-ebook/dp/B00H8CKJKO/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1435800446&sr=1-1&keywords=van+vogt+weapon+makers)
(Links go to Kindle formats.) Written in the 40s, in what I cant help think of as "pulp space opera style."

As for me, I proclaimed on the blog the other day that "I identify as a Grouchy American, and I'm fed up with all you Smilists demanding that I adopt your lifestyle!"

So do I get bonus points for being an Immigrant-Armed-American?? Oh wait I came here legally so I guess I'm not as special as I thought.
