9mm Ammo blind tested today, 100 rounds each. Based on accuracy results, recoil, smoke, failures (0), dirt level, etc. found no reason to buy any of these over the RUAG @ $8.38 /box. The primary thing that prompted this sampling was my wife's comment that she didn't like the smell of the RUAG. Interesting that in the blind test, she complained about the smell of the Sellier & Bellot ammo but not the RUAG. I liked the Sellier & Bellot because it came in the absolute smallest box I've ever seen for 50 rounds of 9x19, which means you can cram about 25% more into the same space in your range bag. But I can't rationalize that for $2 more per box. Plus, I watched a guy ahead of us fighting his way through a couple of boxes he was running through a Sig, and he was having FTIs that took 2nd and 3rd strikes to fire. Some never did fire. I was worried that I would have the same problem but didn't on the Beretta PX4, G19 and G26 used in the test. Could have just been a bad batch of primers at the factory.

Still have more testing to do on my AA kit, but so far CCI is best, but still trying to get FTE count down; Remington had more FTEs and some FTIs. Federal AutoMatch sucked! FTE on every round. This says more about the AA kit than the ammo though. For example, my CZ 75 Kadet has no problems with any of this ammo, or any other ammo I've fed it.

Going to test the AutoMatch first on next run with clean, newly lubed gun

First, fired 240 rounds of Federal AutoMatch, starting with clean, HEAVILY oiled gun.
Had 9 FTFs and 6 FTEs. Three out of four magazines had failures.

Next, fired 100 rounds Remington HV, and had two FTEs.

Finally, fired 120 CCI min-mags, and had zero failures.

Conclusion: Avoid Federal AutoMatch and use CCI mini-mags if possible, with Remington HV as a less reliable alternate.

But my wife thought it smelled funny when shot, so I skipped it for now, even though I didn't notice unusual smell. Otherwise, I'd pay a few bucks more for the smaller packaging. Anyone in the St. Louis Area looking for 9mm. Dunn's Sporting Goods had Federal AE 9mm $0.30/rd today. I asked when they would get more and they didn't know. They have had 40SW $0.36/rd for a for a while. They even had small pistol primers. They are tight on the 9mm, but take what you want of the other stuff.

Freedom munitions is awesome. I'd recommend liking their Facebook page, because they will post good deals on there. The other day I got 500 rounds of new 9mm for $.18 a round including shipping. Only thing I don't like about it is the accuracy. It's not bad, but when I try to get really tight slow fire groups I find it just isn't as accurate compared to something like Federal bulk pack or WWB. YMMV

I have no field data from using it, but accuracy-wise it has done very well out of all my revolvers. I had seen that deal from SGammo, and snagged another 200 rounds of it.

I am seriously thinking of picking up about 500 rounds so I have some for the future. It looks like a decent performer, not too far behind the 135gr stuff. My only concern is that on every video I have found it looks to shoot pretty well below the advertised velocity and regularly fails to expand. I am seriously concerned about the velocity window for expansion. Obviously not everyone's youtube video is scientific and accurate but short of ordering the ammo and conducting the test myself it's all I've got to go on. absolutely. shot 2000 of it through my glock 19 so far. 1000 of it was 115 and 1000 of it was 124. Honestly there wont be much difference between standard pressure 115 or 124. I just buy whatever is available for range use. I just picked up 1000 mag tech from then and 1000 aguila. SGammo is my favorite place to purchase from

It appears that Walmart has decided not to sell AR-15 rifles or defensive shotguns any longer. They are getting rid of current inventory. - Relevant to this thread is that you can find Federal Fusion MSR ammo there at bargain prices. I bought the 308 MSR for $13 per box and the 223 MSR at $11 per box. I also saw 6.8SPC MSR but didnt buy any since I don't have a rifle so chambered. These prices rang up at the register despite a higher price tag in the glass case. The 308 had a red discount tag of $19, but rang up for $13 as mentioned. Less than $30 for 50 is quite reasonable. I think I have purchased 124gr +P Gold Dots for less than $25 a couple of times, but prices that low are rare in my experience. I think the most I've paid is about around $34 for 50. SGAmmo also has 147gr Golden Sabers for a good price right now ($11.49 per 25 rounds). That's the only other round from the "the list" that I saw in stock right now.

That seems to be their thing. A couple years ago I ordered a 1k rounds of 147gr FMJ and got everything confirmed as in stock ready to ship. Two days later I'm told it's back ordered. I asked how since I verified they had it? They gave some song and dance but I suspect they sold it to a walk in customer instead even though my card had been charged. I won't buy anything from them again and told every person I know who shoots what happened.

Unless I need something directly from Black Hills, all my ammo money goes to SGAmmo.com.

Target sports seems to have a bad reputation around here because of a few egregious incidents.

I have nothing but positive data points to report, however. Between another PF member and I, we've placed roughly 20 orders from them in the last year and haven't experienced anything other than good prices and fast shipping. Since we're pretty close to their warehouse, products often arrive the next day. I took advantage of their Remington deal and trust this experience will be the same. As always, YMMV.

I had the same experience, they called on around the eighth day and said they could only send 1000 of the 2000 rds I had ordered and if i would care to substitute the back ordered ammo with something else. I asked how long it would be back ordered, she said 2 weeks ** or so **. I cancelled the order. It showed 2000rds in stock when I ordered it. Just a heads up what could happen on your order with them.
