Yes sorry, SDLSHP1712 is the code, after the rebate comes into affect it will be about .35 per slug, which is amazing deal I think.
Thanks for the code. I agree with you on how good the deal is. Several of the current Federal deals are great deals, actually. I just wish I had the money to buy enough American Eagle .223/5.56 ammo to max out the rebate like I'm doing with the 9mm ammo.

I have a gut feeling the end of the year/ beginning of next year will have some better rebates for 9mm & 5.56...

Almost by accident the other day I found Federal 9mm aluminum case ammo for $17.69 per 100 rnd box at Walmart. If it works as well as the Independence aluminum I have been shooting this will be great.

I've had no issues with this ammo and I went through about 4 cases worth during the last ammo crunch because our local WallyWorlds just kept getting it for cheap.

Yesterday I bought 200 rounds of Winchester 115 gr. 9mm at Meijers for $39.99.
It came in the form of 2 boxes, each of which contained 100 loose rounds. The boxes were white for whatever that means.

You can get brass case for the same price, after adding most locations' sales tax to the Walmart price, from Brownell's right now. Look up the deal on gun.deals.
Also, for those still using .40 for defense, this is hard to beat:

I'm unfamiliar with the pricing on .45 ACP but would it be better to take advantage of Federal's rebate buying this instead of 9mm? .22cpr for 230gr .45 seems like a darn good deal to me.

Just bought another case of this. With the 25% rebate (for those willing to take the extra 10 mins to remove the bar codes from the boxes) a great deal for quality ammo. As stated above - shoots very similar to Federal's 147gr hollow points.

FWIW, for me, Lawman has a higher POI in Gen 4 G19 and G26 and the AE impacts more like the HST. If I had it to do over I would have compared both before buying a case of each.

I was going to do that with the first case I bought but could not get the online registration to accept the bar code number from the case. I didn't want to risk it getting rejected without notification...

I had that issue in the past as well, and then a subsequent message that the particular ammo (at the time) wasn't included in the rebate, (despite the info I had seen and read), and at that point I just decided that I'd no longer be bothered with such in the future.
I do not dispute that the savings can justify the effort if one is willing.

What I did was enter the number from the box, but then sent in the case barcode.
As long as they have the receipt from the purchase, they don’t really care. I don’t know why they even bother with the barcode, honestly. If you’re still unsure, call the number on the mail in rebate form.

This.
I entered the UPC off of one box and it took it. Rebate on the case was 47 dollars and change.
I called the number and the guy said to send the UPC code off of the case container that started with 500. I got pre approved on the internet and mailed in the original sales receipt, that case bar code, and the upper part of the on line confirmation number.
Hope the check gets here by Christmas.

Same. Much easier than what I did last time. Only complication was the shipping label they gave to print (which was not provided when I did this the first time in July) was in an unusual format. It was deliver back to me since the 'mail to' address was in sort of a non-standard location. May be worth making your own label to save confusion and expedite things...

Thanks to manpower shortages and second shift at work being desperate for help, I came into some extra fundage and ordered a case of .380 since with the rebate, it works out to less than 10 bucks a box.
I can't get anywhere near that price locally for AE .380.
2018 is looking to be a good year for training a little cheaper.

FYI some of these buckets ship with peel-off UPC sticker codes, and some with the UPC printed on the plastic only. If you get the latter, Remington customer service says to print out a picture of the UPC and mail it in with your rebate. That's what I did - wish me luck

Southern Ohio Gun has Federal XM9001 (9mm 115gr JHP) for $9.95/box or $199/case. Pretty good ammo for the cost of generic 9mm FMJ. It's known for exceptional accuracy although penetration and expansion are inconsistent. The only issue is that SOG won't calculate shipping on their website. It's calculated after you place your order.

I use sgammo.com as well. Great selection of ammo with competitive prices. In fact I have inbound some Federal 9mm HST 147 jhp ammo. BTW, I shot 250 rounds of MEN 124 grain NATO 9mm yesterday (7-17) in my HK P2000. The pistol ejected the cases in a nice pile around 4 o'clock position. Shot very clean too.

I have no experience with this loading but it's on DocGKR's list so it's probably good stuff. It's rare to see good defensive ammo for $0.31/round so I figured I'd pass this on for anyone who needs to restock on carry ammo. I've placed a few orders at Bone Frog Gun Club in the past and their shipping is always very fast.

You'll put the preorder in your cart for $99 and then apply the discount code to get $10 off of $99. Then on November 16th, you can send in the rebate for $20 back, so you'll ultimately be out $69/500 assuming all goes well.
I'm personally gambling and hoping we get a $15 off $75 code before that happens, though.

I bought some AE 147 (MPN AE9FP) from Target Sports in May of this year. Here's a picture compared to an HST 147:
31960
31961
Lot number on the AE 147 was 423E087443087 and on the HST 147 was P23E195P23196 if you want to figure those out.
Both had a copyright on the box of 2016. Again, this was back in May so maybe it's changed.

I think it has changed recently. A couple of boxes I bought at GT Distributors a month or two ago had an OAL and appearance more akin to that of 147 grain Lawman, with the cannelure gone. SKU hadn't changed at all.

I bought some of the HBWC last year. they go bang, and maybe it's because I'm using 'em as practice loads in my snubby, but they're dirty as hell. like range obscuring cloud in a single cylinder dirty. also turns my gun from black to soot grey in a single box or less. they are noticeably softer shooting than FMJ 135gr or 158gr, and appear to be accurate, so i'll give them that. personally, i'm 5/10 on buying more at some point.

Clean, reliable, cheap......pick any two. 😀
It’s certainly dirtier than some other loads, but I like having a cheap low-recoil option for introducing folks to the fun of revolvers as well as for my own use. Shooting something like those out of a K-frame makes an easy step up from a .22.

True. once you start shooting a 4" or 6" 686, just about any loading that's not full house is a pussy cat. one of the benefits of a 100# gun. :D
Still on the hunt for an even softer shooting .38spl load for "newbie" and crippled* training out of a snubbie.
* some might remember my earlier hunt for a load my father-in-law could start shooting more of to practice with his muscularly injured strong hand.

I've never seen 147gr that wasn't flat nosed. But I'm interested if the new stuff still has that true truncated cone shape, rather than looking like a standard round nose bullet with curved ogive and a flat tip. I have a theory that truncated cones tend to have good accuracy.

Feed issues, especially with PCCs would be my guess. My Scorpion eats Lawman like a fat kid with cake but choked every other round on old style AE9FP as the OAL was just short enough that the bullet would get smashed into the side of the chamber mouth since it had more space to go “off course” after leaving the magazine. Haven’t tried the new style but I’d expect better results.

Your order ships as soon as the rebate goes live on 11/16/18. You will not be charged until the order ships. Pre-order Blazer Brass 500rds Black pack, 9mm Luger 115grain
now here's the real question: do I hold out for 124gr black label boxes? at the same price? with the same rebate?
The rebate lists only the 115-grain SKU in it: 5200BF500. Unless you've got an inside track, I'm not sure I'd hold out.

I'll be getting some, once I decide how to split the rebate amongst 9mm, .22lr, and .223

Brownells' site stopped functioning in Chrome this afternoon, and the Black Pack pages won't load in IE. Must be "Ammo Day 2018" all over the place. I'd be curious to find out how much of this stuff moves today.
The site let me use the code "M8Y" for $20 off $200. Added a box of .22 to the order to get it over $200. Placed two orders, using the code each time. In addition to the pre-order box. Maxed the rebate. $0.14/rd for 9mm and $0.23/rd for .45.
Always find the Brownells page at gun.deals to check current discount codes.

Even if you figure the PMAGS are only worth $8/ea that means the ammo is $.20/rd for American made brass cased 223.

Every time I think about loading up 1k of 9mm on the LCT, I would wind up saving about $6 an hour sitting there pulling the handle on the press, so I just order more 9mm. The 5-gallon buckets of brass are getting a little ridiculous though.

Agreed. I loaded up about 1K earlier in the week, just hanging out with my dad. I forgot about the Dillon auto case feeder. Had a box of Berry's plated 147 I got loaded up. I realized there are sunk cost sitting around, powder, primers and brass. Just a little time sitting there catching up, vs spending new money. But now I actually would need to buy bullets at $100 per 1k, vs about $189 for AE9FP. When ammo is less expensive (as it is now) it's easier to buy than reload.

I figure reloading is for ammo that costs >$0.30/rd. Like the .357Mag, etc.

But cost is a thing. I started handloading for the .41 mag because it was dang near 1.50 per trigger press

Brownells has 115gr Blazer Brass on sale right now for $182.99. If you apply coupon code "MFV", you get 10% off and free shipping, which lowers the price to $164.69. CCI/Speer/Federal is currently running a $1 per box rebate on this ammo. If that comes through, the total cost drops to $145.69 for a thousand rounds of brass-cased ammo. Last year I bought some steel-cased ammo for about $150 per thousand, but this is the first time I've gotten brass this cheap.

Therein lies the rub. I submitted three separate rebates to Federal late last year (2x Black Boxes, 1x HST) and not a single one has paid out yet. Additionally, the reports from reddit imply that Vista is no longer mailing checks, but is now instead giving out prepaid MasterCards and is extending the fulfillment period out to 10-12 weeks (which, in my case, have already passed for one submission).
I'm usually not one to turn my nose up at deals, but between this and the general weakness/dirtiness of Blazer Brass, I think it's definitely worth considering just paying an extra $10-20 for a case of S&B instead.

The last time I did the rebate thing was a couple years ago. I could be mistaken, but i wanna say it was Remington at the time.
Anyways, between the time it took to get the money, and the time I spent cutting UPC labels, and printing receipts from my online order and mailing it and whatever else I had to do...... I came to the conclusion I didn't care about going through all that anymore. This is a great deal though for the folks that aren't deterred by all that stuff.

Oh well. I hope the rebate comes through, but it's a good price even without the rebate. (I bought it before I posted about it.) Blazer Aluminum is on my "do not buy" list, but I can't remember if I've ever even tried Blazer Brass.

The new Federal system is super streamlined. Take a pic of the boxes, a pic of the receipt, a pic of the UPC, send.
And yet despite that, it’s now taking 12+ weeks to send a gift card instead of just printing off a check. Go figure.

Wow that's really cool! For the current/recent rebates I had looked at the form and it looked like it was the same old stuff. Guess I'll take another look cuz that changes things. The wait is stupid, but not a dealbreaker if it really is that easy. Thanks for the heads up.

So, that is where all the damned ammo went. ;)

For some reason, 124GR S&B and even 115gr gets snatched up real quick on TSUSA.
Price is at the point where reloading is hard to justify, packing is very condensed for storage, relatively clean burning, accurate and stout. They do sell out quickly.

Just in case you need some, it's here (https://www.midwayusa.com/product/471572/federal-premium-law-enforcement-ammunition-40-s-and-w-180-grain-hst-jacketed-hollow-point-box-of-50?utm_source=campaign&utm_medium=email&utm_content=product_11_link&utm_campaign=memorial-day-sale).
Price check your local Walmarts. .38 train ammo is $5/50. I think the defend ammo is marked down too.

Wal-Mart has cases of 1200 rounds 123 gr ZQI 9mm ammo for $185 here and there.

Anyone with hands-on experience with this stuff? I know at least one person here had a bad experience but I'm not sure if that's common with this ammo. Seems like most of the reviews are either "50 rounds, flawless" or "I don't buy that overpriced/Muslim crap" with little inbetween.

WM used to sell ZQI 308Win for $10/20. I love that stuff for plinking and non-critical target shooting. I'd buy more if it were available. I still have a couple hundred rounds. The brass is military brass, which means I have to ream the primer pockets before reloading, but it's fine otherwise. As for the 9mm, I've never seen it, but I wouldn't hesitate to buy it based on my experience with the 308 stuff.

I'm almost done with the case I bought. I'd buy it over Winchester NATO if it was cheaper.

Well this is a conundrum. In stock at my "local" Wal-Mart (which is still a 40 mile trip), but my last experiences with Winchester ammo have been pretty negative, and at the Wal-Mart in question, I might have to use the ammo before I leave the store...

I've got around 700 rounds of their .308 myself; was hard not to when it dropped down to $7/20 locally. My PTR-91 liked it well enough that I knee-jerked and bought the case of 9mm, but I've been reading comments about primer issues (mostly either blown primers or primers requiring a second strike to detonate), so I may test it in my Glocks and then set the rest aside for subgun food.

I have some of that. Just a heads-up, they use really greasy lube, and lots of it. I get best results if I slide the tray out of the box with all the bullets pointing up and wipe their noses with a paper towel before loading them in mags.

I have the remains of a case myself that I bought last year. I like it in cooler weather as the lube is somewhat runny in warm weather. The ammo, though, is very consistent and groups quite well.

Target charges me sales tax, YMMV. Not quite the 50% off they claim but the cheapest I've seen in a while. Some examples per case of 1000 shipped:
9mm 124gr standard pressure P9HST1 $399.90
9mm 147gr P9HST2 $399.90
9mm 124gr +P P9HST3 $399.90
40 S&W 180gr P40HST1 $449.90
45 ACP 230gr P45HST2 $499.90
Looking at their site. Specifically the .40/180gr HST. They sell by box or by 1000 round case. Either way it's .90/round (44.99/50 or 899.80/1000.) That's not a great price.

FYI - Speer and Federal are both running rebates again. Maximum $50 rebate, it's $5/box for a max of 10-boxes, min of 2 boxes. Unfortunately, it is only good for the 20-round boxes of Gold Dot, Hydra-Shok, or HST.
Target Sports USA has Gold Dot for $11.99/20 for 124-grain +P, and $12.99/20 for 115, 124, and 147 grain standard pressure varieties.
The math works out to ~0.35/round for 124-grain +P and ~0.40/round for 115/124/147 varieties. That's still cheaper than buying in the 50-round boxes. TSU has 115/124/147 50-round boxes for 0.46/round. SGAmmo has 50-round boxes for 0.60/round.
HST is more expensive from TSU at $15.99/20 which comes out to 0.55/round and thus only saves 0.05/round over the 50-round box price from SGAmmo (0.60/round). That may not be worth it in the long run, depends on whether or not you're paying for shipping.
Speaking of, TSU is running free shipping on orders that contain bulk-ammo orders. I picked up 500 rounds of 150-grain Syntech for $119 and got 200 rounds of 147-grain Gold Dot shipped for free.

Just a heads up on Vista Outdoors rebate submissions. Unlike the previous ten or twelve rebate submissions I've done with them, they now require an image of the packing slip.
Receipt Images *
When using an order confirmation as your proof a purchase, a picture of the packing slip MUST also be included. Consumers who fail to upload both their order confirmation AND packing slip will be unqualified.
I don't know. Maybe people were taking photos of ammo they already had, or taking photos of ammo they hadn't purchased in a store, or pulling empty boxes out of the trash at the range, and using it to submit after placing an online order, printing out the receipt, and then immediately canceling it. You could make a few bucks in little enough time that even a criminal might expend the effort to do that, I guess.

I verified this lot is nonmagnetic. It comes in small cases like S&B or Fiocchi size. Rounds appear clean and brass polished. I've only shot 200 through a VP9, but had no problems. Some reviews say it's hot, but I didn't feel that. Ammoboard is apparently the "bulk only, free ship" arm of Outdoor Limited. I've ordered several cases from AB over the last couple months without trouble. They ship fast and overbox with padding (I request "discrete packaging").
