A buddy just found Norma 124 ball on sale in bulk at his local C-A-L Ranch store, he and I just split 4 cases at $220/case, tax included.

That chain typically has inventory regionally, so if you have one nearby it might be worth a look. Cheapest I have seen it in over a year, at a time that the internet suppliers have bumped prices to 270+shipping for no-name Turkish 115.I just picked up a couple of cases at their West Jordan store. Thanks for the heads-up!

I wouldn't be surprised if the sudden rush of online orders overwhelmed their ability to accurately and quickly pick/pack/ship the ammo. They are likely shipping orders from whatever stores had stock (which was most of the ones local*ish* to me) and not a main wearhouse.

Canceling orders if they still have product in stock is pretty crappy though.

This is exactly where the situation stands with me..
FedEx still shows enroute, I'll know for certain Saturday.

I hold no ill towards them. Completely understand they are a regional setup (think I mentioned upstream I thought they were a regional setup.)
My thoughts were/are it'd be nice (surprised even) if they shipped but nothing I'd get wrapped around the axle about if they didn't.
But I still hate they cancelled for any of us while they still show "in stock". Understand on one level, Sucks on another...

Influenced by you folks I joined Target Sports, and ordering for my self and my also mostly retired shooting bud, have more than recouped the initial membership cost over the past few months purchasing 9mm at < .25/rd.

Well, except they ARE! They have a website, they conduct ONLINE sales & ship product. Did they think they only had LOCAL internet?

The REAL issue is that they didn’t honor their commitment to paying customers for a product THEY priced and promoted. They certainly took our CC’s quick enough. And then when they realize it would be advantageous to them to hold back and cancel our purchases they did.

I just went through this exact same fucking thing with the Subaru dealership. The marketing campaign was reserve an in transit vehicle, meeting one that wasn’t actually on the lot. Put down my money on it to hold it and get $1000 off MSRP. Then three weeks later, after I make arrangements with my bank for financing and my insurance company on the price of the car,… when I get ready to go in and finalize the deal they tell me oh by the way you have to finance through us to get that price! And naturally their financing has certain restrictions. 🤬

So maybe I’m just a tad oversensitive at the moment,… But fuck these people. 🤣

I think it's a combination of being overwhelmed with orders (and probably not intending to allow home shipping in the first place) and realizing they can make more $$$ by selling it in store at a higher price and not dealing with the hassle of shipping.

Of course. I said that not honoring the price was pretty shitty. The thing is, outside of the region, no one would even know who they were, or think to order ammo from them, online. I'd wager that 80-90% of their ammo sales are in store, and not online. As someone else said, this was probably intended to be an "in store only" sale, and someone in their IT/online department is probably getting their butt chewed. I wouldn't be surprised if shipping the ammo at that price was a fairly high percentage loss for them. I suspect that is why they are offering in store pickup, honoring the price. They lose big time after shipping. The sale may have been intended as a "loss leader" to get some foot traffic in their stores and drive other sales.

Before you start looking for ropes and lampposts, consider that this store is one of the places local to me that didn't gouge terribly on powder and primers during the panic, hasn't stopped selling guns and ammo (ala WalMart), and is probably more supportive, as a company, of freedom and independent American values, than your average retail business. I would rather support them than someone that hates me, even if they make a mistake.

No offense intended Chomps, but have you considered decaf, or cutting back on the Monster/Redbull/Rockstar intake? You seem a little high strung. :cool:

They Lied about Not having it in stock in order to cover up & justify their reasons for canceling my order! They took my cc quick enough and took 3 days to inform me of the bullshit cancellation. And immediately after that, they had PLENTY of product IN STOCK for purchase @ their New jacked up price. +50%. F*ck ‘em! 🤷*♂️ Had they been upfront about the “Not for Home Shipping” mistake, Id be more willing to cut some slack. But this was pure greed and deception.

As for the decaf thing? It’s not like im up nights fuming about this PoDunk store from out in BFE! I was angry about my order being canceled. And I was definitely angry about being lied to. Recoil gunworks must be restocking at intervals (it was in-stock at 0750 this morning) but I saw the "out of stock" when I checked my order status yesterday morning.

My old 590 is Vang Comped so it isn't as particular, but I've been wanting to try the 8 pellet Fed in my Shockwave (new to me this year).

I've shot around 1K of these rounds so far. As pangloss mentions it's dirty, but no more so than most these days.

fwiw I've shot about 100 rounds of New Republic 158 gr .357 (partially because I wanted the brass for reloading). Both the 9mm and .357 brass are fine for reloads. The 158 gr .357 runs a bit better than 1200 fps the best I can remember without going downstairs and checking my logs. But it was comfortable and reasonably accurate...most accuracy issues are related to my diminishing old man hands & skillz.

I've purchased a fair amount of SD ammo from Bonefrog before. IIRC they were one of the few companies several years back selling 50 round boxes of HST or GD to us mere earth walkers when other vendors were pushing their 20 rd boxes for some bullshit reason or another.

For those who own .44's and don't reload, this factory round is the mildest I have ever fired. It actually makes shooting a SW 296, 396 or a Charter Bulldog very tolerable. At $30/50, this is the cheapest price I have ever seen for this class of "cowboy" power level loads and the couple of boxes I have fired in the past were decently accurate. I think the Grizzley cartridge guys actually own this storefront, but no matter, I have had several good orders from this site in the past.

I am a huge fan of the Brenneke Home Defense slugs. They shoot really well in all my shotguns, and their QC is excellent.

His shipping was mind bogglingly fast too. I once sent him an email asking if he was slapping the label on the package as I was finishing the order. Not kidding, he was getting it to my door (NV to OK) 2nd day from order.

There’s few calibers I actually buy. They ship quick, but it takes a while to get to Kansas. Their HST prices are still barely double what FMJ is. I’ve built up enough supply to not run my carry ammo all that long and I don’t get super annoyed when I have to rezero a dot.

This may be old news and I would not really call over $1/round a deal, but I had several back in stock notifications from multiple sources hit my inbox this week for the Speer 100gr Gold Dots.

I understand the 115gr version may be preferable, but it appears that Speer ran a batch of 327 magnum after the round being out of stock for some months, at least at the sources where I had the notifications set up.

I find it hard to believe an obscure name like that is an LE overrun though. I've been tempted on their FMJ's but I don't think I would go hollow point when it counts with an unknown.
