Yesterday was a very tough day for our department. One of my guys and his fiancé lost everything in a house fire. There is one room that may be salvageable which will leave them with a bed and a dresser with a few clothes. Everything else was lost to the fire including their 3 dogs. There has been a fund set up to help them get back on their feet because unfortunately they didn't have renters insurance. They are getting married the first week of August and have a long ways to go before they can begin to heal. I am trying to get out the word to help get them as much support as possible through this dark hour.

Here is a little bit of bragging on these two to give you an idea of who they are. Brandon has been with us for 2 years and in that time has made a tremendous impact on our department and community. He is the first person at our agency to become a forensic interviewer for children. He has built a MDT (multi disciplinary team) from the ground up in our area making it only the 9th in the state. This team consist of specialists in our community donating their time and expertise to the team in order to help children who are victims of sex assaults and other horrific crimes both for the child and to ensure the case it built as air tight as possible. He has also taken our search and rescue branch from shambles to a professional organization. Most of this has all been done on his spare time. During his off time he has also donated to the community by coaching peewee football and little league baseball. His fiancé is a teacher and basketball coach and very active with the kids in our community.

Please keep them in your thoughts and if you would like to help them out there has been a go fund me set up in their name. If you would like to send a card from your department or something personal along those lines please PM me for information. Thank You
