What Was That, Colt Ed.

I stopped by the gun/pawnshop in Fredericktown, MO yesterday.

They had a Colt Something in the display case. It had a Python-style vent-rib barrel, but it had a matte-blue finish. Asking price was $975.

It was kind of crowded, and folks were busy, so I didn't get a chance to ask.

Any ideas?

Price wise I would say it is a MK V Trooper.

Colt briefly made the Peacekeeper, a matte finish Python clone. Collector's item now.

My first thought was Trooper, but I think Tom's right.

Here's a few iterations of ribbed barrel Colts aside from the smaller Diamondback and the larger Anaconda series: they were called the Peacekeeper, Border Patrol, Trooper and Grizzly. There certainly may be others I'm overlooking.

Tom, I think you're right. It had a longish name on the barrel, but as I said, I didn't get a very good look at it.
