For the pilots here....

I found my old David Clark H10-13.4. I haven't flown with it since 2001, maybe 2002. The foam on the boom mic needs to be replaced, but otherwise it looks okay. I only ever put 30-40 hours on it before flight lessons doubled in price and I couldn't pursue my PPL any longer. I would like to sell it as I have no use for it and as of now, I would rather take the value of it and put it towards funding a class with Ernest Langdon. Langdon, Defoor and Givens are on my will-give-left-nut-for classes list, and I'd like to do one of them this year!

What should I check on it to see if it's still in serviceable condition? What about it's value?

A brand-new one cost $289 from Sportys. They've always been the gold standard, but are now supplanted by ANR headsets. To my knowledge, David Clark still has a lifetime warranty on them if something needs to be repaired or replaced. No idea what a price for them would be but some subset of $289.

I'm pretty sure nothing significant has changed on that model since you bought it.

Extra bonus question -- what is the significance of the "13.4" in the name?
