I remember crying my eyes out as a kid when I watched Spock die in The Wrath of Khan. I'm not crying now, but my world is definitely less bright and cheery today. I'll miss him.

Oh, and I'll have to do a little LDS (https://www.lds.org/?lang=eng) in his honor.

An icon, whether wearing pointy ears, or hosting 'in search of'. RIP.

Multi-talented man. The world is a lesser place.

What a fantastic movie this was. Really makes me even more disappointed in the new ST reboots.

The original cast is getting fewer and fewer.

Well I just checked, both USS Enterprises are in no condition to be stolen.

^^This. I was born in '83 and at that time, Star Trek was a fringe nerd thing or was being lived out through "The Next Generation." Thank God the guitar player at our church was a true Trekkie and had all the episodes "taped" off of the Sci Fi channel. We borrowed them and I watched them over an over as a child. A couple Christmases ago my wife bought me all three seasons on DVD.

Live long and prosper indeed!

I was born in 1986 and in lived in a part of the country were we only had 4 TV channels and they still played the original series! I have very fond memory's watching it with my Grandpa who is no longer around.

Mr. Nimoy's portrayal of Spock is one of the biggest influences on me being a total space nerd and his unflappable demeanor in times of adversity helped me deal with being the nerd who didn't fit in with the rest of the crowd. He was a tremendously talented artist and he was integral to the TV show that had one of the hugest impacts in American Culture during the latter half of the 20th Century.

Dif-tor heh smusma, Spohkh. (Live long and prosper, Spock).

I was saddened to hear this. The various Star Treks have done more to inspire future scientists and engineers than anything outside a war, and Spock was always a standout. And from COPD, too. Even sadder.

He also was not exactly what one would call a "big supporter of gun rights" from what I have been told.
