Waiting on a Form 3 to my dealer from SilencerCo on a Saker 7.62 and a Form 4 on a Spectre II from my dealer.

I am waiting on Illinois to join the 21st century and allow NFA. :p

I win! Only 54 more months until I leave this place and move someplace where NFA is allowed.

To be fair, you can get an SBR now if you are an 03 FFL or member of a "reenactment group". I keep waiting for "Jim-Bob's Short Barrel Rifle Reenactors" to form.

Just an FYI - not sure if it's been posted here yet -

SilencerCo will be announcing more of the details of their Mil/LEO/FD "Blue Label" program shortly.

Allegedly 50% of MSRP

To stay on topic - just got my Griffin M4SD II 5.56 can a couple weeks ago.

SilencerCo Spectre II is on a Form 3

Trying to stop myself from ordering. Griffin Revolution 9 but I know I'm going to cave in and order it in a week or so....

How much faster is approval by e-form submission, and does it work with a form 4 through a dealer, too?

Form4 is down till further notice. ETA E-form Form4 is down, they are reworking the system to "better" serve the fiefdoms.

Form1 has been reported to be 25-35 days E-form.

So 6-7 months by conventional submission versus about a month by e form?

Can a trust also do a form 1 by e-submission?

JM Campbell

Yes sir.

BTW Form4 have been reported to be down to 4-5 months, my shop has stated they have seen them back on paper submission as fast as 3.5 months (quickest amongst their customers).

My last successful e-form came through in 2 months. Then the whole system went down while I had 2 cans in jail. I waited several months, and then on the advice of the dealer, switched to paper forms. It took nearly a year total :-(

From what I've heard, the e-forms are going through really fast now.

SilencerCo is also on 3point5 now, too (which is neat if you work for a Silencerco dealer) I think 50% off MSRP.

As for the topic of the thread, check cashed Dec. 23 2014 on a Specwar 762. Too bad that it seems futile to try it on my shiny new AUG. Oh well.

Waiting on a 9mm GemTech multi-mount, SilencerCo .45 Octane, and a Military Armament Corporation 10.

I spread them out, every couple of months or so........that way they are clearing every 10-18 weeks, and makes waiting on shit less painful. Or buy a bunch several weeks before heading out the door for deployment. Come home to NFA Christmas!

Currently, IIRC, you can only do E-Form's as an entity.

Individuals require signatures and those forms must be mailed.

Exactly.

Form 4s are paper only right now.

Form 1s are paper or E File. However, E File Requires submission via Trust.

ATF sent an email out a couple weeks ago saying that they are expecting E File for Form 4s to be back up late 2015 (So figure 2016).

They have added some contract employees that have cut the times way down.

E File Form 1s in ~30-45 days
Paper Form 3s in ~1.5-2 months
Paper Form 4s in ~3-4 months

It seems like those times are getting even better lately.

If anyone is on the fence regarding Class 3 stuff, now is the time to jump in. Get a Trust and get going!

For the "uninitiated"; there are different examiners. Sometimes there can be a slight discrepancy.

However, considering we're talking weeks versus months or years; this is lightning fast.

My SBR between Form 3 and then subsequently Form 4. Took about 14-15 months by comparison to 45-60 days.

ETA: That was also during the madness post sandy hook.

While it certainly is good, forming a Trust avoids CLEO involvement entirely and also has some additional benefits not available when going the Individual route.

Just something to consider....

That is, trusts avoid CLEO involvement until BATFE changes the regs to require all "responsible persons" to be fingerprinted and submit CLEO sign offs...which may happen this year...

Certainly anything is possible. I agree. It's good, like I said.

If 41P gets authorized who knows how it would be implemented? Would existing Trusts have to get CLEO signatures? I've read every possible scenario and it always ends with "well, they can amend it to say whatever they want, so....."

I really like the Trust for the other benefits, mostly regarding the use of items by any Trustee named in the Trust.

I would choose a Trust regardless of 41P going through or not. As a bonus, Trusts don't require you to get a CLEO signature (currently). That's all I was saying.

My 22 can from Silencer Shop was purchased 12/26. Form 3 (Trust) approved 2/15 and it has been sent to the FFL in Fredericksburg - 51 days.

Hopefully Form 4 (Trust) gets approved in May.

Yep. I'm pretty happy so far. Perhaps 4 months from manufacturer to FFL to me.

It's a far cry from my Form 1 and Form 4 (both paper Trusts) last year.

Both were submitted in February 2014. Form 1 SBR was approved in September and 5.56 suppressor was approved in late December!

Direct. At the time they weren't on 3point5. Their current 3point5 deal is pretty good (%50 off MSRP) but their earlier deal was even better (%50 off dealer cost), and in my case they didn't take my money until my cans were ready to go. It does seem like they've had some changes since summer 2013.

That's on my list as well. Looks fantastic. I love the top rail possibilities. A MRDS on a suppressed 22 pistol will be great, IMO.

I only stared with the M&P because it's a bit lighter than even the 22/45 Lite (15ozs VS 23ozs).

I wonder if L&M can mill a M&P 22 compact for a MRDS? Hmmm.

Or perhaps just a drill & tap for a small rail?

I believe I have some emails to send....

Getting way OT though, sorry.

If I submit my Form 4 and move before I get my stamp is there a simple change of address form to fill out as with my other suppressors or would I have to have it Form 3'd to a dealer in my new state and start my Form 4 all over again? I've had the M4SD II 5.56 can for a few months.

.22 Spectre II should be approved in a few weeks. - kids (and I) are going to absolutely love it. 1 pistol and 2 rifle hosts are ready.

Ordered a Revolution 9 from a local dealer last week. I guess I have 3 months to get the G19 slide milled and a threaded barrel.

I keep trying to invent rational reasons for the 9mm pistol can and I can't do it. I've accepted the fact that it's simply going be fun and I just want it. :-)

This IS addicting.

Take a look at this (http://ruggedsuppressors.com/surge762/).

The main benefit of choosing a modular suppressor is the ability to quickly adapt the suppressor to what you need without having to carry around multiple cans with you to the range, etc. You also don't have to make an often times difficult choice between a long and short suppressor. Not to mention having to purchase two cans, pay two stamps, fill out two Form 4's and then impatiently wait twice.

Modular suppressors' usefulness should be pretty apparent. Everyone likes flexibility and choices. Modular cans do just that. Sure, there are some who will find a configuration they like and stick with it only changing once or twice a year for a special circumstance but wouldn’t you want the ability to change it around if you needed to?

Since you guys brought up the Surge, let me talk about it for a moment. It ships in a 9" configuration and can be configured to a 7.5" with the removal of the Adapt module and re-installation of the end cap on the main suppressor body. This action takes a few seconds and once hand tight you can get back to shooting. The Adapt module does not require any thread-lock compound during installation.

We chose 9" and 7.5" configurations based on the most popular 7.62 cans in the industry.

Sound reduction is very comparable to competitor's products in the same lengths. Durability is something we take very seriously - we designed the Surge taking this into account by making the mount and expansion chamber out of a single piece of 17-4 stainless and utilizing a full Stellite baffle stack. We test every can that leaves our facilities for function as well as accuracy. If a can doesn’t meet our standards, we don’t ship it out. We're so confident in the Surge, and all of our products, that we back them with a full lifetime warranty. If anything happens to it, send it back and we'll repair or replace it for free.

Time for an Omega then? :D

ha, if I opened my wallet right now moths would fly out. I got a killer deal on the specwar but at the time (2013) it was between that and the Saker. If the omega had been an option then I probably would've taken it.

Just got an email yesterday from the local dealer handling my Silencershop Spectre II that it's ready to be picked up.

Purchased 12/26/14
Form 3 approved 2/15/15 and from 4 submitted per SS.

I haven't heard from SilencerShop, FYI. Not that I need to - just kinda surprised the shop called and I didn't get the notification from SS like they said I would.

Basically 6 weeks for the F3 and 4 months for the F4.

I have a pistol can from a local dealer on a F4 since 4/25. Hopefully mid August approval.

Spectre II picked up this AM.

Purchased 12/29/14 from SilencerShop.
Form 3 approved and form 4 submitted ~ 2/15/15.
Approved 6/10.
Notified by local dealer 6/18/15 that it was ready for me.

Only had thunderbolts (1200fps) and CCI quiet (710fps) for ammo today.

Shot it today on a M&P 22 compact. Thunderbolts were quiet but pretty gassy - a quick mag would be pretty irritating for me. CCI quiets were silly quiet but wouldn't cycle, obviously.

On a Ruger American 22 the CCI quiets were ridiculous. Hammer hitting was louder than the shot.

I REALLY need a source for CCI standard velocity. I would run those on all the hosts. They should be less gassy on the pistol and will be subsonic on the American and 10/22 Takedown.

The Kids are gonna love this thing.

Do the standard velocity rounds run in the M&P 22C I take it? I wonder if the subs would run in a Ruger 22/45. I've got a Spectre II in hand as well, we should go shoot.

From what I've seen on the errornet, yes - standards should run in semi autos with and without a suppressor.

Not sure if you remember, but I belong to Fred RodNGun. JMS and I try to get out fairly often. You are welcome anytime.

Going again Thursday, actually.

PM inbound.

Standard Velocity CCI is subsonic and functions in both guns.

Ammo marked subsonic functions in both unsuppressed, but is less reliable when suppressed.

*I should use the caveat that I clean my .22s every 10-25,000 rds. I don't own an M&P 22c, but a friend does, so my experience is minimal with that. I own a few 22/45s, a sig mosquito, a PPK .22, and a P22, all of which I regularly shoot suppressed with a variety of .22 suppressors. My advice is generically true for all of them. I ended up testing about 50 types of ammo, and I have found CCI standard velocity to be the best in all my suppressed .22s.

Awesome info Josh.

I'd like to stash just CCI standard from now on.

From reports that I've read it seems quite accurate in rifles for a non-match ammo. Stays subsonic as well.

Should be less gassy in pistols.

Seems like THE ammo for all my 22s.

Thanks for your info.

CCI Standards are my go-to. They've cycled in everything I've put them through and stay subsonic through my M&P15-22/Spectre II.

Also finally took my Specwar 762 out yesterday. Host is a 16" mid BCM upper (5.56) w/ VLTOR A5 lower. Heavy as hell, wouldn't want to do a class with that setup, but quiet and I didn't notice any gas in the face, nor any cycling issues.

I have no experience with the PPQ but my M&P22 compact ran every ammo I fed it - suppressed and unsuppressed.

That being said, I recently sold it to my FIL and grabbed a 22/45 Lite because I wanted a gun ready for a dot. It is just as reliable as the M&P and is ridiculously fun suppressed with a PA dot on it. The Volqaurtsen trigger is very impressive as well.

The M&P was great but I'm glad I grabbed the Ruger.

The word "better" in the suppressor world is about as subjective a word there is......

Best suppressor is the one that has the features you want at a price you can live with. GemTech has the best prices for me than any other company, and for what I pay for them the features are good enough, so I have a lot of of GemTech stuff.

We were close. My Form 4 check cashed 8/11/15, received the stamp 1/2/16. Anything under 6 months for a Form 4 submitted after 12/31/15 would make me a happy camper.

Probably closer to 5-6 months now.

I submitted my first Form 4 (Trust) in September (pending on 18th) and I've been watching the approval trends like a hawk on NFA Tracker, Arfcom, and M4C. When I submitted, four months (120 days) was the average, almost to the day. Starting in December, the 120 day average started creeping up and right now some are reporting their approvals around the 150 day mark. Some are still reporting 120 days, but there are a lot of August submissions still outstanding, which puts some of them into their 5th month (150 days).

Given the massive amount of submissions when the AG signed 41P/F on January 4th, I can't imagine the wait times staying the same for anything submitted recently. My guess is six months from pending, minimum. Obviously, it's just a guess based on what I'm reading at the above mentioned websites. I don't expect my Sept 19th pending form until at least Feb 16th, which is 150 days. I submitted another Form 4 Trust, pending Oct 23rd, and I'm thinking I'll see that sometime in April.

A quick look at the trend graph on NFA Tracker (http://www.nfatracker.com/TrendGraph.aspx) shows the same upward trend. Uncheck the (blue) boxes that don't apply to your submission at the top and hit set filter.

This arrived from the ATF today...

Good Afternoon:

You are receiving this email because you are a registered eForms user

ATF eForms Update

The new eForms has been named the “Firearms and Explosives Application Module (FEAM)”. This name was selected to emphasis that FEAM is more than a “fillable form”. It is a business process module which will include at a minimum the functionality listed below:

· Auto assignment – All applications will be immediately upon submission assigned to an examiner for processing.
· Auto approval – Some forms, like the ATF Forms 2 and 3, if they meet certain pre-determined criteria will be automatically approved by the FEAM system upon submission.
· Internal controls and performance measurement reporting – ATF has a full audit trail of every application received with date and time stamps for every step in the process. Digital signatures can be used to lock down portions of the form to ensure the security of the data and the authenticity of the submitter.
· Improved business processes with automatic Records Management & Retention, as mandated by the Office of Management and Budget.
· Electronic Signature (for submitter and ATF personnel) - provides enhanced authentication, validation and improves processing and approval.
· Enhance Industry satisfaction: user-friendly interaction.
· FEAM provides the Application Program Interface (APIs) needed to update the existing ATF back end databases, to allow for the batch submission of multiple forms using one computer session.
· Improves efficiency for the Enforcement Programs and Services staff – Forms can be automatically routed, evaluated and tracked so that final determinations can be made in a consistent and expeditious manner.

We had hoped to be able to present the first iteration of FEAM at the 2016 SHOT Show. ATF performed an assessment of what was contracted to be developed for FEAM and what the contractor planned to deliver. At the end of the assessment, all parties involved felt that the product outlined in the current contract did not fully provide all the functionality that we expected, or that the industry requested. For these reasons we decided that rather than to continue on the current course, we would take the steps listed below to ensure that FEAM is a worthwhile investment for both the industry and ATF:

1. Curtail the current development effort.
2. Determine what is needed to sustain the existing eForms system, until the full requirements for FEAM can be determined and developed.
3. Make the necessary changes to eForms to stabilize the infrastructure with the ever-increasing user population.
4. Determine if we can re-introduce the Form 3 to the current eForms, through load testing and other system validations.
5. Perform an assessment of the ATF and industry requirements for FEAM.
6. Secure required funding for a new FEAM initiative, based on the revised requirements.
7. Restart the FEAM initiative, to include industry participation during the requirements gathering and testing processes.

We look at this as only a minor delay. It is our intention to use this delay to acquire the tools and resources necessary to develop a product that will provide more functionality and a stable workflow process and infrastructure. All the work previously done on FEAM is not lost. It will be the foundation for the work that is yet to come. If you have any questions you can contact Lee Alston-Williams at lee.alston-williams@atf.gov.

http://blog.silencershop.com/atf-41f-published-today/

Interesting 41F breakdown from SS.

Notably, exemption for prints/pics if you've had an approval in the last 2 years.

Also, it seems you can modify trust at anytime to remove trustees for an approval and simply add them back afterwards after the stamp is received to avoid all the prints/pics. SS was discussing that on their FB page.

Seems as if the final form is significantly different than what we expected.

Still sucks...just less sucky than before.

There is a thread in the NFA section on M4C about the email that Steve shared. Apparently, they sent that email out in batches, alphabetically. It looks like the G-H email was sent to a total 1400 recipients, and the recipients were CC'd instead of BCC'd, so everyone knows the other recipient addresses. Meh, privacy is overrated.

LOL, way to go.

Yeah I got mine and looked and it was BCC since I did not see any email addresses.

I do like how it will go to an examiner. It was funny I sent 2 emails one from a hotmail acct that got no response and another that got a response in 30 mins, from my Fusion Center account. I guess it all depends on who you are. That is why I like knowing that it might be going to examiner 4 that will take 3 months and examiner 8 will take 5 months or what not.

To add insult to injury I already told Chris to hide a Sandman S in the back of the safe for me. It just sounded so damn nice. I will probably submit that in April-ish after I've put the money away for it.

Instead of the Ghost-M I went with a SiCo Hybrid. It can do everything but rimfire for what I wanted the Ghost for. I wanted the Ghost for my 9mm Rifles. There is just something about using this on everything and just along the way getting the ASR mounts and three lug mounts. Looks like my Gemtech HVT-QM will only be used on 556 rifles with a bilock and my Precision 308 rig.

Well, I got impatient today and called to check status on my Omega submission. It went into problem status on the 25th. Apparently, since my trust has the word "the" in front of the name, THE needs to be on my form 4. Correction letter sent to dealer.

One thing is for sure, if I didn't put THE on my first form 4, I certainly didn't put it there on the form 4 I submitted a few weeks later for my Sparrow. Fuck me.

Yes unless the customer rather send it to their local, or other ATF approved, CLEO. It's a lot easier for us to send batches to VSP Superintendent instead of trying to keep track of all the county and city CLEO.

Mailed Form 1 trust on my old issued 870 couple days before deadline last July.

They billed my account on 20 July 2016.

Called NFA Branch yesterday, the machine quoted wait time as eight months.

Concerned that my stamp was delivered elsewhere, pushed 1 and was told mine has been pending for more than 90 days and "should be getting it in July."

So they've had my money for a tic under 47 weeks now...

ATF should be hiring NFA Branch people instead of field agents.

Hansohn Bros and I ran his demo Obsidian on my MPX the other day.

Very nice.

If you want to run yours on my 8" MPX just holler.

Sweet!

Let me know when you get it.

Head-to-head comparison with every can Hansohn has for them will be a must!

For science, of course.

Son called me to say my Form 1 stamp arrived today. Makes me happy.

The fact they actually got the damn $200 out of my account exactly one year ago, makes me ill as a hornet!

Theyre definitely catching up.

Individual form 4 check cashed 11/7
approved 8/15,

Individual form 1 check cashed 12/20
approved 8/24

Month and a half between submissions and 9 days between approvals. That's a positive sign.

Individual form 1/4 submissions are quicker than trust/LLC form 1/4.

SamuelL, can you please tell me about the sights installed on your shotgun? They look awesome.

I replaced the Remington factory rifle sights with Trijicon Bright and Tough night sights specifically for 14" SBS barrels. Trijicon's part no. is RE05 (https://www.trijicon.com/na_en/products/product3c.php?pid=RE05).

I really like them. The sight picture is just like handgun sights and I think work very well for my needs with the shotgun.

Form 4 suppressor on a Trust- Submitted SEP2016, cleared JUL2017, received stamp a few days later.
Form 4 SBR on a Trust- Submitted SEP2016, cleared OCT2017, received stamp today.

Go figure...

FML. Requesting a certified copy of my Form 4s takes 15 to 30 days, and must be done in writing. Despite ATF losing my approved Form 4s to begin with. This is aggravating, as these were filed over a year ago at this juncture.

Ordered a SiCo Saker 556 ASR this morning from the fine folks at Hansohn Brothers. It'll be going on my SR15E3.

SilencerCo Omega 9K from Hansohn (https://hansohnbrothers.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=59_79&product_id=404)

This gun will live on my Scorpion. I felt like such a #PoorFag (https://pistol-forum.com/usertag.php?do=list&action=hash&hash=PoorFag) swapping my lone pistol can between Glocks and my Scorpion Evo.

A little birdie told me to ask Hansohn for PF pricing and the birdie was right ;)

Filed for a Dead Air Sandman S and to register my LMT MRP as a SBR on Jan 30 2018.
Both stamps came back approved on June 26 2018..... So a little under 5 months...
Both filed as a Individual.
