No, I didn't get to attend the show, but watching my various feeds, I have picked up on a stack of wood and steel that will make 'traditional' gun lovers quite happy (cough* Tam, Nyeti, Malamute, Caleb, LSP972, etc. *cough) - I'll just compile them here rather than start fifteen additional threads in this section - Thus far, I have really enjoyed The Firearm Blog's coverage for solid coverage of the event - most links will come from them.

REALLY like the 1903.

I cant believe they are only making 2500 of them. Insane.

Me too. One of the back-burner projects for 2015 was to find an old 1903 and send it to a smith for modern enhancements (sights, checkering, etc.)

What might that 1903 cost?

No idea, but my guess is about 15-20 Benjamins.

I think my family might own an original 1903.

Its been in the family since sometime in the 40's. FWIW it was shot last summer by my Dad and I at a range session. Interesting, I'll investigate.

Thanks RR

I've had a couple of them in the past. Retardery compelled me to trade them off.

Oh, man… I WANTS me one of those 1903s.

I don't suppose there was any information regarding a "release date"? I suspect these will be snapped up faster than popcorn.

Think I'd prefer polished blue over parkerizing… but we'll take what we can get.

OTOH, maybe not.

$1400 for the "plain vanilla" model????? And its not even made by Colt...

I am not surprised. I doubt Colt owns any of the machinery used to build the old ones anymore. They licensed the Bulldog gatling guns out and the BAR out too.

But that is disappointing. I knew the prices would be very high on these. WWI 1911 Repros ran 1000-1200 when they came out and those could be made at Colt.

But that is disappointing..

Indeed it is. I have the "first issue" WW I repro model 1911, and was hoping for one of these as a companion piece. Not likely, now. That's a bit too rich for an ersatz copy.
