Which iteration of the Beretta 92 allows for installing night sights? Seems like most 92's are not able to accommodate them.
92A1, Vertec, Elite I, Elite II, 92G-SD, Brig Tac and the new BUSA product have a dovetailed front sight and tritium sights available.
Or Tool Tech if you have a fixed front sight.

I am always a bit baffled at how hard it is to find a 92 with night sights installed from the factory, even with qualified purchaser/LEO credentials. I really want a railed 92 with nightsights in G-config to supplant my stock 92FS as my go-to gun, but that seems to be a hard thing to put together.

They will all take night sights. The standard 92s/M9s will require you to send the slide to tooltech (http://www.tooltechgunsight.com/)where they will drill the front sight post and install a tritium vial. Meprolights (http://www.midwayusa.com/product/282656/meprolight-tru-dot-sight-set-beretta-92fs-steel-blue-tritium-green)don't require the slide to be sent in, but I wouldn't trust their setup. 92s with the Brigadier slide, Vertecs, and some of the newer models have removable front sights as well.

ToolTech/Trijicon; they have the equipment, experience, and expertise. They are very helpful as well.
Best, Jon

92G SD is the decocker only? What does SD stand for?

I purchased a 92F several months ago that already had night sights. They were very dim and I wanted them recharged so I called Tooltech. I mailed my slide today and they told me it would be a 4-6 week turn around. They will recharge Trijicon night sights and several other manufacturers.

Dave Harrington. The SD is a Beretta version he helped to get made. Railed, g config, dovetailed sights.

It's one of the most sought after variants ever. With the new releases and Wilson Combat services, something close could be recreated.
Has anyone here had tool tech sights installed with a tritium front and all black serrated rear?

You'd be better off getting the new Wilson/Beretta brigader tactical. It's cheaper than a 92g-SD and better optioned. Plus the g-sd's rarely come up for sale and when they do they go for $1500+.
If the G designation isn't mandatory the 92a1 is a great option.

I did a write up on mine with some Wilson combat upgrades here:

Also, you could wait till mid 2015 and get a M9A3 which will amoung other things have a vertex frame and the option for a G slide.

The Wilson Combat 92G Brigadier Tactical (http://wilsoncombat.com/new/handgun-beretta-brigadier-tactical.asp#.VKIH7AM4I) is inspired by the 92G-SD and is as close as you'll find to a current production 92G-SD. I don't think they're all spoken for...yet...but time is running out. Terrific pistol - here's mine.

The 92FS Vertec (http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=460829762) is also currently available in limited numbers, but unless my need was urgent I'd hold out for the M9A3 over a Vertec.

The Wilson would be the one to get for sure but i was looking to stay more in the 6 to 700 dollar range. Maybe the current Brig offering.

The SD goes for more than the WC is selling for at the moment.

I haven't YET. I did have them quote me $95 for front only tritium (with plans for a Wilson rear sight). I'm holding out for my Wilson Brig Tac to come in to see if i like that setup (and top see what size rear sight notch I'd want).
