View Full Version : CZ Scorpion Evo 3 with Sig brace

Now this looks cool!
Version one of the Scorpion was on every Euro-terrorist's must-have list back in the day. This, however, actually looks potentially useful/fun. Any idea of whether it takes a special adaptor to hook the sig brace to the pistol?

Cool. FYI - the word on the streets is -a straightforward way to add an AR15 pistol buffer tube and Sigbrace to a KRISS SDP now exists. Which would also be very cool.

Oh. It's just another big clunky "me-too" 9mm. I got all excited thinking it was gonna be a rehash of the cool little .32ACP Skorpion. :(

They sell the .32 up here. I just can't quite justify the cost.
But I always wanted one as a kid.

There's a part of me that's yearning for a Sig MPX with brace (whenever they're available here). I've been seriously considering it as a fun gun, but it's hard to swallow the cost.
This CZ is half the price of the Sig. Now I have something new to ponder over.
I'd love to see a comparison of the two.

+1/Like.
It's a pistol. A pistol. The 9x19 Skorpion was so tiny and awesomedorable. This is like 'that SCAR is shooting 9x19?' Even the SCAR-16 looks sized for .308 at minimum.

I have a similar affliction, minus the brace which doesn't matter in Canada.

Has anyone got a Scorpion yet? Thoughts?
Took a couple classes with a guy who had one. He wasn't impressed with it but I can't remember why. I know, your welcome, glad I could be of use :)
I want one SO bad. When they were first added to the "what's new for 2015" on CZ's site I called and asked if the stock to the real one could be purchased separately and was told no. I had my heart set on this plus 2 tax stamps and have one of the coolest suppressed SBR's around. I just can't make myself like the sig brace.

I still think there's a cool factor involved in using a sling to stabilize one of those short guns, especially in states like mine where SBR isn't kosher :(

922R kit with factory folding stock is due out anytime now. That's what's got me considering one.

Did anyone ever end up messing around with these?
They finally cleared Canada's gun classification laws so I'll probably be playing around with one in the next month or two.
A couple of my buddies have them. They are OK but really need aftermarket safeties and trigger kits. Having shot them, I'm saving / waiting to get an MOX.

I have an SBR one with the 922R kit. It's okay. The trigger kinda sucks and it was a PITA to put in the compliance sear. The heavy bolt carrier makes you feel every shot. I have an RDS on mine. The sight above bore line is pretty big. It's not that accurate. The only other pistol caliber SBR experience I have is the HK MP5K. That was better to shoot.

Hm. Disappointed to hear about the trigger. Blowback guns...recoil I guess is inherent to the design and it can't be worse (or even as bad) as a Sterling but yeah, I could see that. They look fun from a distance but I'm not sure how fun. No sear worries up here, but overall may or may not be worth the money to me.
I can't get into paying the $2500 CAD an MPX commands, or a B&T TP9.
Now I'm more tempted to get a Vz.61 Skorpion. They're making them in .22 now, which might be stupidly fun.

Plenty of pistol calibre carbines to choose from...but IMO if you're throwing away a carbine on a pistol round, you should really just be going for style points. Euro subguns are much cooler than pistol calibre ARs, IMO.

A friend of mine has one with the arm brace on it. I've shot it a couple of times, and the braced version is much much better than the non-braced version. I imagine that it would be even better as an SBR. I've put maybe 50 rounds through it, and it's a fun little gun. If I could magically transform my Beretta CX4 into a CZ, I'd probably do it, just because you can fold the brace/stock on the CZ. However, the CX4 gets points for it's semi-bullpup/overgrown pistol design. I guess the B&T TP9 might be my "ideal," but I've never ever seen on in person.

Not to be a bigger downer, but with a can on the end the recoil is annoying. I can do faster shots on target with by AR SBR than the Evo. Plus it is kinda chunky for a PDW. I use a 5.11 Moab to tote it around it fills up the bag fully.

Yeah but then it ate all that polymer and got YUGE. The Evo 3 weighs about 6.1 lbs. The MP5-A3 weighs 6.3 lbs. Which one has more sexy? http://hkusa.s3.amazonaws.com/20161024133733/5-MP5-CALIF-SWAT1.jpg

I've enjoyed shooting my evo so far. I do have aftermarket trigger and springs, mag release and right side safety lever. I am running a H1 with factory low mount puts the dot slightly above the sights, pretty much cowitness sight picture.
My Scorpion so far has been accurate, I have destroyed 1" square targets at 15-20 yards, have hit out to 200 yards on steel and hammered 100yd steel man sized targets.
I do shoot my own reloads.

Just an update: I have had the hardest time keeping the my Scorpion accurate while suppressed. When not suppressed, it is accurate. When I put on my AAC Ti-Rant, it goes crazy inaccurate after about 10-15 rounds. I installed the fixed barrel spacer and tried 2 different threat adapters. With the different adapter sans can, it was a laser. I concluded that it was the can. The titanium in the can turned the end of the barrel into a wet noodle when it got hot. Maybe I need a steel can; maybe it wasn't meant to be.

I believe they did, but I THINK that they were the outer edge of the performance envelope for this operating system. IIRC a few 9mm versions were built but they did not run well. This runs fine...until you try to feed it RNFPs. Which is now all the .32 I have left.
So I guess I'll be ordering bullets and dies because I love this stupid little thing.

The Bader Meinhof gang/Red Brigades used to specialize in using them during their heists and kidnappings. Back when they were active, Big Army required ammo convoys and other juicy targets to have the capacity to fight back. That was generally limited to one 2LT or SFC carrying a .45 with five rounds in a separately carried magazine. Because five rounds of hardball could take out a Red Brigade ambush team and their wussy .32 cal. Skorpions any day.

Well, fuck yeah. 'Merica, JMB, they all fall to hardball, and all that. Any GI worth his salt should be able to take fifteen .32 hits per second and still load his 1911.

They are restricted firearms, which means special licenses, permits and restrictions.
Also, mags are limited to five rounds.
We can own cool stuff, but the Gov tries desperately to take all the fun out of it.
